  • Patent number: 11095564
Abstract: A multiple-attributes, classifiers-based, broadcast scheme for use in vehicular ad-hoc networks may be employed to assess numerous attributes in order to accurately and effectively determine an appropriate rebroadcast decision for a message received by a vehicle. Various schemes may be employed, comprising one classifier module, or a plurality of classifier modules used in parallel and in accordance with a combination rule function, to effectively examine the attributes contained within a received message and select an appropriate rebroadcast decision, thereby increasing the performance of the vehicular ad-hoc network as a whole. The performance of the broadcast scheme may further be analyzed in a simulation, whereby certain values, such as probability values to be used in the broadcast scheme, may be determined.

Date of Patent: August 17, 2021
Inventors: Sami Saleh Alwakeel, el-Hadi Mohamed Aggoune, Agung Budi Prasetijo, Hesham Abdulaziz Al-Twaijry

  • Patent number: 8661484
Abstract: The dynamic probability admission control policy for distributed video provides a method that decides in a Video on Demand (VOD) system which content requests can be admitted and which requests should be rejected to maintain Quality of Service (QoS). Requests for popular and expensive movies should not be rejected on the behalf of unpopular movies to generate more revenue. The dynamic probability admission control policy combines a shared resource admission control and a class-based admission control. Moreover, dynamic probability is used to access shared resources, such as ports and bandwidth. A nonlinear dynamic probability function is used for allocation of ports/bandwidth. The dynamic probability admission control policy improves performance of all the request classes, as well as overall system performance.

  • Publication number: 20130316723
Abstract: A system used to facilitate participation of a plurality of pilgrims in a seasonal pilgrimage throughout predetermined locations in Saudi Arabia to the extent of providing assistance, advertisement and educational information used by all pilgrims who perform the annual pilgrimage (Hajj) ritual in Saudi Arabia. The cities of Mecca and Medina are visited by millions of pilgrims (Hajjis) over a seasonal period of two weeks. Utilizing a plurality of mobile, wireless, interactive communication devices distributed to and operated by the plurality of pilgrims, as well as government/public authority and a plurality of pilgrim guides, the system facilitates transporting, processing, supporting and educating the vast number of pilgrims from various countries throughout the world including their arrival, departure and guidance throughout the locations where the pilgrimage is to be conducted.
