  • Patent number: 11867824
Abstract: The invention relates to electric solar trackers moving solar panels and being controlled by a solar tracker controller. More precisely the object of the invention is aimed to a commissioning procedure of solar power plants. The invention accounts for a mesh communications network, multiple gateways respectively associated to each solar tracker controller; the gateways acting between the mesh communication network and a solar plant communications system wherein each solar tracker controller is assigned a unique serial number comprising ID, position on the solar plant of the solar tracker associated to the solar tracker controller. The gateway determining a solar tracker as being available for commissioning and sending configuration data to the solar tracker controller of the solar tracker available for commissioning, the configuration data including information of auxiliary gateways to connect to in case a primary gateway fails.

  • Publication number: 20230421093
Abstract: A tracker controller for a photovoltaic installation includes a box and an antenna for a communications system housed within the box, with: an elongated casing pipe and a connection at one end of the casing pipe, connecting the casing pipe to a lower portion of the box, for the casing pipe to freely rotate with respect to the box around a rotation axis. The antenna also includes a protrusion, extending from the casing pipe near the connection, and which is configured so as to bump against the box, when the antenna rotates, for limiting rotation of the casing pipe, so that the antenna stays essentially in a vertical orientation.

  • Publication number: 20210167721
Abstract: The solar tracker includes a pivoting assembly (2) having solar panels (3) fixed to a rotating shaft (1), a fixed structure with support elements (4, 5, 6) rotationally supporting the rotating shaft (1), a motor-reducer assembly (7) having an irreversible reducer (24) connected to the rotating shaft (1) at a motor connection point (12), and a torsional vibration damping device (8) having a moving member (9) rigidly connected to the rotating shaft (1) at a damper connection point (13) spaced apart from the motor connection point (12) and a stationary member (10) rigidly attached to the fixed structure. Both the moving member (9) and the stationary member (10) comprises elements capable to generate a magnetic field when a movement of the moving member (9) relative to the stationary member (10) occurs, resulting in a damping torque on the rotating shaft (1).

  • Patent number: 10284138
Abstract: The solar tracker having a bidirectional limit switch device comprises at least one solar panel (10) supported on a pivoting structure (12) tiltable in opposite first and second directions about a rotation axis (13) by a DC electric motor (M) a controller (14) and an actuator (15) controlling actuation of the electric motor (M), an inclinometer (16) fixed to the pivoting structure (12) and connected to the controller (14) to detect an actual physical positive or negative tilt angle of the solar panel (10) with respect to a horizontal plane, and a feed circuit (17) to apply a voltage having a selected polarity to the actuator (15) to produce rotation of the electric motor (M) either in the first direction or in the second direction.
