    Abstract: A system described herein may monitor information associated with a set of User Equipment (“UEs”) associated with a first network, and may receive an access request, for access to a first UE of the set of UEs, from a second UE associated with a second network. The system may obtain, based on the access request and from the second network, monitored information associated with the second UE. The system may identify monitored information associated with the first UE and a particular access policy that is associated with the first UE and the second UE. The system may identify, based on the particular access policy, the monitored information associated with the first UE, and the monitored information associated with the second UE, whether to grant or deny the access request. The system may output, in response to the access request, an indication of whether the access request is granted or denied.

    Abstract: Methods of Internet of Things (IoT) device access are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is implemented in a software-defined networking (SDN) controller. The method includes receiving a node discovery request from a network device that receives a unicast neighbor solicitation message from an electronic device that supports IPv6. The unicast neighbor solicitation message contains an IPv6 address to be registered. The method also includes causing a device entry to be generated in a device discovery table, and transmitting an acknowledgment to the network device upon the device entry being generated successfully. The method continues with transmitting a request to the network device to generate a flow table entry for the electronic device based on a policy table. The flow table entry includes an operation to be performed, and the network device is to perform the operation on a packet received matching the flow table entry.

The BBU element comprises an interface for communicating 6LoWPAN data to and from a router coupled to an IPv6 network. The BBU element also includes a bridging functionality operative to determine endpoint PRRU elements' addresses and corresponding RHUB elements' addresses by querying an address mapping database.

The bridging functionality is operative to transmit the control channel message (including the packaged 6LO data packets) to the RU element based on an address mapping between the destination IP address of the 6LO data packets and an address of the 6LO endpoint coupled to the RU element.
