Abstract: A method and system provided for identification of scanning/transferring of confidential documents using digital imaging devices, such as copiers, scanners printers fax machines and the like. When an imaging process is initiated, image of the document is send to a local OCR (scan) or remote server to perform OCR optical character recognition function. Thus converted document will be searched automatically by the system for keywords to determine the confidential nature of the document. In addition the device will store user details, process details (scan, copy, fax, email etc.), destination details etc., when processing of confidential documents occurs.
