  • Publication number: 20230134008
Abstract: A bi-directional DC-DC converter and an on-board charger with the bi-directional DC-DC converter integrated into it are disclosed for converting a first voltage to a second voltage. The bi-directional DC-DC converter includes a transformer for magnetically coupling a primary circuit receiving the first voltage on a primary side with a rectification circuit on a secondary side. Further, a high voltage power source is connected to the rectification circuit for supplying a high voltage to one or more high voltage loads and a low voltage power source is connected to the high voltage power source through a secondary circuit for supplying a second voltage to one or more low voltage loads. The bi-directional DC-DC converter functions in both stationary condition and running condition of a powered device.

  • Publication number: 20220185144
Abstract: A battery charging system for a hybrid electric vehicle includes: a battery, a battery management system, and a support unit. The support unit includes an electronic control unit provided with a predefined motor speed constant (S) and a predefined state of charge value (SoC). The electronic control unit receives a real-time motor speed (SRT) from one or more sensing units and a real-time state of charge value (SoCRT) for the battery from the battery management system. The electronic control unit generates one of a first activation signal and a second activation signal based on one of the real-time motor speed (SRT) and the real-time state of charge value (SoCRT) of the battery. The battery management system initiates a voltage source inverter charging mode upon generation of the first activation signal and a boost converter charging mode upon generation of the second activation signal.

  • Patent number: 7467619
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for detecting a closing of a solenoid. The system includes a capacitive charge circuit electrically coupled to the solenoid. The capacitive charge circuit conditions the current flow through the solenoid to increase the current in response to the closing of the solenoid. The invention also relates to a system and method that includes detecting a current through the solenoid and determining a current slope characteristic. The current slope characteristic is a function of the current and time. The method also includes conditioning an electrical characteristic of the solenoid such that the conditioning is in response to a current slope parameter. The current slope parameter defines a change in the current after removal of an electrical charge to the solenoid.
