Patent number: 12555305Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and/or methods that may be used for determining scene information (for example, 3D scene information) using data obtained at least in part from a camera array. Certain embodiments may be used to create scene measurements of depth (and the probability of accuracy of that depth) using an array of cameras. One purpose of certain embodiments may be to determine the depths of elements of a scene, where the scene is observed from a camera array that may be moving through the scene. Certain embodiments may be used to determine open navigable space and to calculate the trajectories of objects that may be occupying portions of that space. In certain embodiments, the scene information may be used to generate a virtual space of voxels where the method then determines the occupancy of the voxel space by comparing a variety of measurements, including spectral response.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2020Date of Patent: February 17, 2026Assignee: Visionary Machines Pty LtdInventors: Samson Lee, Rhys Andrew Newman

Patent number: 10282534Abstract: A system for enabling data syncing between a host device and an electronic device includes a first port configured to be coupled to a first electronic device, a second port configured to be coupled to the host device, and a data sync switch coupled to the first port and the second port. The data sync switch is switchable between a first state, in which data communication between the electronic device and the host device is enabled, and a second state, in which data communication between the electronic device and the host device is disabled. The system also includes an authorization device configured to couple to an authorizing physical object and generate an output signal. The data sync switch is in one of the first state and the second state based on the output signal from the authorization device.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: May 7, 2019Assignee: ACCO Brands CorporationInventors: Qiumin Li, Samson Lee

Patent number: 9196139Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a systems and methods of loss prevention, discovery, and tracking of personal belongings through the use of wireless hardware and mobile electronic devices such as smartphones, tablet computers, and portable computers. One embodiment of the present invention may be directed to a mobile communication device comprising a processor, an antenna, a transceiver device electrically coupled to the antenna and the processor, and a computer readable medium coupled to the processor and comprising code executable by the processor to implement a method. The method may include receiving a wireless communication from a wireless apparatus attached to an object, determining a signal strength reading from the communication, determining if the signal strength reading is below an adaptable alert threshold, and if the signal strength reading is below the alert threshold, alerting a user.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2012Date of Patent: November 24, 2015Assignee: ACCO Brands CorporationInventors: Gerald Gutierrez, Sunny Chan, Gary Wong, Samson Lee, Sorin Antonescu, Michael Li

Publication number: 20150242665Abstract: A wireless device configured to communicate with a mobile communication device in an object tracking system includes a transceiver configured to send and receive messages with the mobile communication device. Each message has a signal strength value. The wireless device also includes a first antenna coupled to the transceiver for sending and receiving the messages, a second antenna coupled to the transceiver for alternatively sending and receiving the messages, and a processor coupled to the transceiver. The processor is operable to switch between using one of the first antenna and the second antenna based on the signal strength value of an associated message.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2014Publication date: August 27, 2015Applicant: ACCO Brands CorporationInventors: Sorin Daniel A. Publication number: 20090184822Abstract: A security system is disclosed. Embodiments of the system comprise a key containing a unique identifier, and a security device capable of reading the unique identifier from the key. In certain embodiments the unique identifier is stored on an integrated circuit within the key along with a power supply for the security device. Use of the proper key can initiate the locking or unlocking of the security device, through actuating means.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2008Publication date: July 23, 2009Applicant: ACCO Brands USA LLCInventors: Robert Mahaffey, John Hung, Guillermo Andres, Samson Lee, Will Ali, Wilson Tse
