  • Patent number: 8484762
Abstract: An adjustable and flexible sports headgear for protecting against injuries. A front panel protects the forehead, eyes, nose, and face of the wearer. The front panel extends from the forehead to the nose tip, allowing the wearer to breathe, and has a pair of openings that accommodate the eyes and permit unobstructed vision. A rear panel protects the back of the head and has two ends and a fastener connecting the ends to secure the headgear to the head. Side panels extend from opposite ends of the front panel to the rear panel. The side panels have ear protectors with apertures that facilitate hearing. Impact-absorbing padding is located along the front panel to protect the forehead and along the side panels to protect the temples. A strap connects the side panels with a releasable connector and, when connected, spans over the top of the head of the wearer.

  • Publication number: 20090199700
Abstract: A knob for adjusting a rotatable control on a foot operated musical instrument effects pedal is disclosed. The knob has a shaft having a first end, a second end, and an outer perimeter bounding a first cross-sectional area, the first end being securable to the rotatable control. The knob also has a wheel located at the second end of the shaft, the wheel having an outer perimeter bounding a second cross-sectional area which is greater than the first cross-sectional area, a bottom surface rigidly attached to the second end of the shaft, and a top surface located opposite the bottom surface, wherein at least a portion of the top surface has a frictional surface adapted to receive a user's foot for rotating the knob and thereby adjusting the rotatable control.

  • Patent number: 6506175
Abstract: An orthopedic bandage includes a length of unbroken loop fabric to which a layer of thermoplastic breathable elastomeric foam is intimately adhered. The bandage has integral or attachable parts of different widths that are closed around an anatomical part using tabs that engage the fabric where desired, in a hook-and-pile fastener arrangement. Narrower strap-like parts and wider pad-like parts which can have specific shapes, wrap around the body with minimal bunching or folding which allow a user to apply desired amount of concentrated and general pressure around the particular areas of the body. In addition, the wide and narrow straps are effective to engage tapering anatomical parts such as the base of the hand and wrist or the ankle and foot.

  • Patent number: 4394803
Abstract: The elasticized overlay is particularly adaptable for use in an athletic type shoe which includes a tongue and a modified blucher construction. The modified blucher is fabricated without eyelets and receives thereover the elasticized overlay. An elasticized fabric together with suitable attaching strips is affixed to the shoe along one edge to form the elasticized blucher overlay. The elasticized fabric extends substantially the entire length of the blucher construction and has the free edge provided with a plurality of spaced eyelets to accommodate an eyelet lacing system. The blucher and tongue can be padded with a foam lining to shield the wearer's foot from pressures developed in the elasticized fabric and imposed at the laces.
