  • Patent number: 5376217
Abstract: Apparatus for labelling file folders and other artifacts which includes one or more work stations, the number of work stations typically matching the number of labels that are to be applied. Work stations may have: (1) fixedly positioned label rolls, or (2) label rolls which can be shifted back and forth so that labels from different rolls can be applied at a given file folder location, or (3) a mixture of these two types of label roll supports. The apparatus can be computer controlled, which makes custom labelling practical. Also disclosed are methods for labelling artifacts which employ labelling apparatus of the character just described.

  • Patent number: 4864753
Abstract: Visible index systems which include a support and hanger wires for detachably affixing cards and pocket cards to the support in an overlapping arrangement. The arrangement for fixing the hanger wires to the support is so constructed that each card or pocket card is independently supported, and lateral movement of the hanger wires is precluded as is lateral movement of the cards along those wires.

  • Patent number: 4769935
Abstract: A wire hanger for removably affixing the pocket card of a visible index system to a card-supporting frame, tray, or other holder. The hanger has a rectilinear main body portion and integral loops at the opposite ends of that portion. Each loop has two sides paralleling the main body portion of the hanger and an integral return bend between those sides at that end of the loop opposite the main body portion of the hanger. One side of the loop has a pocket card hinge-receiving extension spaced from and paralleling the main body portion of the hanger, and the two sides of the loop are symmetrically disposed relative to the axial centerline of the loop's main body portion. The foregoing construction substantially eliminates the possibility of the pocket card hanger being improperly affixed to the pocket card supporting structure in a manner which would result in the lower part of the pocket card being obscured or exposed to an unwanted extent.
