Publication number: 20250086095Abstract: A machine learning model is trained from characteristics of code changes and characteristics of tests to generate an output indicative of a likely test result of running a corresponding test on a code change. One or more machine learning models may be trained for a specific code repository and based on developer feedback. When a code change is generated by a developer to code in a code repository, a machine learning model is selected based on the repository and characteristics or features of the code change are extracted and input to the machine learning model. The machine learning model generates a model output indicative of the likely test results of running each of a plurality of different tests on the code change. The model output indicates how likely it is that each of the plurality of different tests will fail. Based on the model output, a test selection system selects a subset of the plurality of different tests that should be run against the code changes.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2023Publication date: March 13, 2025Inventors: Jose Antonio HIJAR MIRANDA, Luke Robert SCHOEN, Mitansh Rakesh SHAH, Jorge Alejandro VELASCO REYNA, Samuel Akwesi YEBOAH, Sereym BAEK, Michael Joseph LAUCELLA, Everson Ramon RODRIGUEZ MUNIZ, Ranjodh Singh SANDHU, Florin LAZAR, Robert Allen LAND

Publication number: 20240427738Abstract: The disclosed techniques enable users to receive visits from other users in a desktop environment and initiate communication sessions using an input gesture that associates a virtual representation of a user with a file. In response to receiving a gesture associating an avatar into a file, the system performs two functions: it selects the file for sharing and automatically starts a communication session with appropriate permissions between a user of the avatar and a user performing the gesture. The user can additionally grant other users' permission to edit the shared file which is reflected in an update to each user's permission data. In this way, users can communicate and collaborate directly from the social space of a desktop without opening a communication application.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2024Publication date: December 26, 2024Inventor: Samuel Robert CUNDALL

Patent number: 12155613Abstract: The disclosed techniques provide a messaging system with a user interface (UI) having a specific arrangement of suggested expressive illustrations, such as emojis. In some examples, a system analyzes a received emoji and provides a suggested list of emojis for a response. The suggested emojis are arranged in a way that candidate emojis capable of generating animation effects in combination with the received emoji, are listed higher in ranking, e.g., preceding, over other candidate emojis that cannot generate animation effects in combination with the received emoji. The system can rank individual emojis, or other types of graphical expressions, depending on whether a candidate emoji is capable of generating animated effects with the received emoji. In some embodiments, candidate emojis that are capable of generating animated effects precede candidate emojis that are incapable of generating animated effects.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2023Date of Patent: November 26, 2024Assignee: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventor: Samuel Robert Cundall
