    Abstract: A hose coupling includes an insert and a sleeve extending over the outer surface of the hose. The sleeve is crimped radially inward to secure the coupling to the hose and the sleeve has a plurality of grooves on the outer surface increasing in depth progressively away from the end of the hose to reduce the amount of material in the wall of the sleeve and thereby reduce the amount of force required to crimp the sleeve onto the hose.
