Abstract: A shock-isolation system having a platform for supporting an operator station and a console which can both be fixedly secured to the platform in a relative non-displacement mode with the platform supported by a shock mount that simultaneously isolates the platform including an operator, the operator station and the console as a unitary component from high “g” shock to thereby minimize injury to an operator due to impact with either the operator station, the console or the platform.

Abstract: A shock absorption mount has is generally C-shaped and has a top section, a bottom section, and a supporting section. The top section contacts an equipment mounting surface, while the bottom section contacts a foundation. The supporting section includes-an inclining section, an intermediate middle section, and a declining section. Preferably, the inclining section is a linearly inclining section and the declining section is a linearly declining section. The intermediate middle section has a curvilinear shape that has an elliptical inner segment and a circular outer segment. Preferably, the shock absorption mount is constructed of an elastomeric material having a flexural modulus in the range of about 10 and 100 ksi, a breaking strain greater than about 400%, and a yield strain greater than about 10%.

Abstract: The present invention is a novel shock-absorbing mount (20) to protect shock sensitive equipment mounted thereon. It has a configuration of a C shape but contains various angles therein to increase the utility and agility of the shock absorbing mount (20). These angles are specifically derived to allow the shock-absorbing mount (20) to fully absorb extreme shock energy without transferring it to the equipment.
