  • Publication number: 20240135466
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating user notifications to a set of users of a social networking service is presented. For each user of a set of users of the social networking service, one or more machine learning models selects an optimal notification channel, an optimal notification template, and optimal personalization content for configurable elements of a selected notification template. Each of these determinations/selections is made according to and based on a likelihood of increased user engagement with the social networking service. Upon determining the notification channel, notification template, and personalizations to the template, the notification is generated and sent to the corresponding user.

  • Patent number: 11965988
Abstract: A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system can emit light toward an environment and detect responsively reflected light to determine a distance to one or more points in the environment. The reflected light can be detected by a plurality of plurality of photodiodes that are reverse-biased using a high voltage. Signals from the plurality of reverse-biased photodiodes can be amplified by respective transistors and applied to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The signal from a particular photodiode can be applied to the ADC by biasing a respective transistor corresponding to the particular photodiode while not biasing transistors corresponding to other photodiodes. The gain of each photodiode/transistor pair can be controlled by adjusting the bias voltage applied to each photodiode using a digital-to-analog converter. The gain of each photodiode/transistor pair can be controlled based on the detected temperature of each photodiode.

  • Publication number: 20240123289
Abstract: Performance of an athlete is evaluated using position data of the athlete over time during performance of a set of movements. Movement metrics for the set of movements are determined, the movement metrics including measures of acceleration and power. Performance metrics for the athlete are then calculated to indicate the athlete's strength and speed. A reference data set is defined based on various attributes associated with the athlete. The performance metrics are applied to the reference data set to determine a performance category for the athlete, the performance category indicating relative strength and speed of the athlete among other athletes represented in the reference data set. Lastly, a training regimen for the athlete is generated based on the performance category.

  • Patent number: 11962615
Abstract: A system for detecting Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks on one or more user profiles collects a number of invalid sign-on attempts on the one or more user profiles during every time interval. The system determines a number of invalid sign-on attempts on every user profile since the start of the first time interval. The system detects a first DoS attack on a particular user profile if a first number of invalid sign-on attempts on the particular user profile exceeds a single-user profile. The system detects a second DoS attack on multiple user profiles during the first time interval if the increase in the total number of invalid sign-on attempts since the last time interval exceeds a scan-level threshold number. The system detects a third DoS attack on multiple user profiles if the total number of invalid sign-on attempts detected during combined time intervals exceeds a third threshold number.

  • Patent number: 11815682
Abstract: A combiner assembly for a ceiling mounted projection head up display system for an aircraft cabin has an optical combiner (10), and a support mechanism (30, 32, 35) for supporting the optical combiner to be movable between an operational position and a stowage position, above the user, and laterally displaced, and facing an underside of the projector assembly by means of a lateral component of movement and a rotation component to reach the stowage position under the projector assembly (20). Such a two axis movement can make better use of limited headroom in cabins such as those of small aircraft, by enabling a stowage location offset to one side of the line of sight, while providing sufficient clearance from the user's head and from cabin structure, during the movement and/or when in the storage position.
