  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Patent number: 5833319
Abstract: A back cushion and seat cushion system including an intermediate extent having a rectangular configuration with an inner edge, an outer edge, and a pair of side edges defining a top face and a bottom face; a back cushion having a top edge, a bottom edge, and a pair of side edges defining a front face and a rear face, the bottom edge of the back cushion being in communication with the intermediate extent, the front face being curved forwardly forming an apex situated at a central extent thereof along a horizontal axis thereby defining an upper tapering portion and a lower tapering portion extending to the top edge and bottom edge of the back cushion, respectively; and a seat cushion having an inner edge, an outer edge, and a pair of side edges defining a top face and a bottom face, the inner edge of the seat cushion being in communication with the intermediate extent, the top face being curved upwardly forming an apex situated between a central extent and the outer edge thereof along a horizontal axis thereby

  • Patent number: 5456519
Abstract: A seat cushion and back cushion system comprising a back cushion further comprising a lower section having an inner surface, an outer surface, a bottom edge with opposed side edges, and a raised sacral counter pressure pad disposed thereon; and a upper section extended upwards from the lower section, the upper section having an inner surface, an outer surface, a top edge with opposed side edges coupled with the side edges of the lower section, with the inner surface and the side edges thereof bulging outwards to define a curved pillow; a seat cushion further comprising a raised outer section for supporting the femurs of a user thereon having a inner surface, an outer surface, and a front edge and opposed and side edges extended laterally therefrom; and a depressed inner section having an inner surface, an outer surface, a top edge and opposed side edges extended from the top edge and coupled to the side edges of the outer section, and two spaced concave depressions formed thereon defining a saddle.
