  • Publication number: 20230245685
Abstract: A screen is manipulated to display content whose reflection is not captured by a sensor. In an embodiment, the screen inserts a black frame between screen content frames, displaying the black frame during a particular time. A sensor captures a video frame during the particular time. The video frame does not include a screen reflection and is considered a clean frame. In another embodiment, the screen displays screen content with a particular polarization during a particular time. A sensor captures a video frame with another polarization during the same time. The polarizations are selected such that the sensor is unable to capture screen reflections. The video frame is considered a clean frame. The clean frame is used to generate a masking frame, which is applied to target video frames to remove screen reflection. A modified target video, including the reflection-removed target video frame, and/or the clean frame itself, is generated.

  • Patent number: 7764734
Abstract: Digital pulse width modulation with variable period and error distribution that improves the tradeoff between resolution and clock speed in pulse width modulation circuits so that a higher resolution can be achieved with a lower clock speed. A preferred method includes, for a signal sample S and each value of P in a range Pmin to Pmax of pulse periods P, determining a pulse width V=round(P*S), where round(P*S) is the closest integer value of P*S, and the magnitude of the error |E|=|S?V/P|, for the value of V (Vopt) and P (Popt) associated with the lowest value of the magnitude of the error |E|, providing an output pulse of a pulse width Vopt during the pulse period Popt, and successively repeating a) and b). Other aspects of the invention may include error distribution, error squelching to prevent idle-tone, idle-noise artifacts, 2-samples-per-pulse and non-uniform sampling and pulsing. Other features are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080278362
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a technique to design a DAC. A double-summed-to-zero (DSTZ) graph is created having a plurality of nodes linked by a plurality of directed branches. The DSTZ graph represents a finite state machine (FSM) that generates a sequence for a switching block used in a mismatch-shaping digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Each of the plurality of nodes represents a state in the FSM. The DSTZ graph has a total work function and a total potential energy summing to zero for a cycle traversal. A switching sequence is generated starting from a reference node in the plurality of nodes in response to an input sequence. The reference node has a zero potential energy.
