Publication number: 20250278307Abstract: A circuit and method are described for performing real time, dynamic temperature control of a microprocessor having multiple CPU cores. Steps are taken in order to maintain performance of the microprocessor at a high performance level while keeping the temperature of the microprocessor as a whole within a desired temperature range and lower than a top threshold temperature. A temperature sensor is positioned to sense the temperature of each core and a temperature control circuit outputs a temperature report signal to a system controller. The system controller of the CPU will receive the temperature report signal and the system controller will take steps on a real-time basis to provide dynamic allocation of the code to be run in each of the different cores in order to direct the operation of each respective CPU core to keep it from exceeding a top threshold temperature value.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2025Publication date: September 4, 2025Inventor: Samuel Eber

Publication number: 20250274207Abstract: Techniques for integrating local television content into over-the-top (OTT) devices and services are presented herein. In some techniques, a television media broadcaster comprises a satellite antenna interface for receiving RF signals corresponding to a plurality of television channels including regional broadcast channels, an RF tuner for demodulating the RF signals into digital signals, and a communication interface to transmit the digital signals to a remote device for presentation on a display. In response to receiving a tuning request from the remote device for live media content for a regional channel, the RF tuner is tuned to a frequency corresponding to the channel, and a digital signal representing the live content is received and transmitted to the remote device for presentation.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2025Publication date: August 28, 2025Inventor: Samuel Eber

Publication number: 20250274619Abstract: Techniques for augmenting IP television streams are presented herein. In some techniques, an original video stream is encoded as a compressed video stream by a satellite television system and broadcast via a satellite television network. The lost data resulting from encoding the original video stream as the compressed video stream is encoded as an augmentation video stream and transmitted to a remote device via the Internet in response to a request from the remote device received by the satellite television system via the Internet to enhance the compressed video stream with the augmentation video stream.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2025Publication date: August 28, 2025Inventors: Samuel Eber, Robert Sadler

Publication number: 20250039252Abstract: A download manager system ensures that data required by multiple device on a network is downloaded as few times as possible. The download manager system identifies one or more devices connected to a network, and obtains device information for each of the devices. The download manger system detects that a first device is downloading data. The download manager system determines that a second device may require the downloaded data. The download manger system may cause the data to be stored based on a determination that the second device may require the downloaded data. The download manager system may cause the downloaded data to be transmitted to the second device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2024Publication date: January 30, 2025Inventor: Samuel Eber

Patent number: 10511742Abstract: In some embodiments, a method is provided for storing data in a storage device associated with a first electronic device. The first electronic device can receive a request for data from a remote electronic device. The request for data can include pairing information, which can be used to confirm the remote electronic device as an approved paired device. The request for data can also include authentication information, which can be used to authenticate the request for data. The first electronic device can retrieve the data from the storage device and transmit the data in encrypted form to the remote electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2016Date of Patent: December 17, 2019Assignee: DISH Technologies L.L.C.Inventor: Samuel Eber

Patent number: 9172463Abstract: Systems, devices and methods provide feedback about the quality of communication between a device and a remote control. A wireless signal is sent between a controlled device and the remote control. The quality of the signal can be measured and reported to a user, installer, troubleshooter, customer service agent or other person in any manner. Quality may be determined based upon the strength of the received signal as well as the amount of noise that is present. The quality measurements provide feedback that allows a user, installer, customer service representative or other person to change the positions of the device or the remote control, or to take other actions based upon the quality of the wireless signal that is received.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2010Date of Patent: October 27, 2015Assignee: EchoStar Technologies L.L.C.Inventors: Samuel Eber, Eric Hieb
