  • Patent number: 10034806
Abstract: An organizer for an over-bed table includes left and right sides that support an organizer top. One or more shelves selectably engage opposing slots defined by the left and right sides. A plurality of holes penetrate the organizer top and are configured to receive pins in a user-selectable configuration. The pins extend above the organizer top to support an object to be supported in a generally upright position. The amount by which the pins extend above the organizer top is determined by the selectable engagement of the shelves and the opposing slots defined by the left and right sides.

  • Patent number: 6375123
Abstract: A refueling drogue for rearward deployment from a tanker aircraft into an air stream includes a fuel valve for receiving fuel from the tanker aircraft and controlling a flow of the fuel; a coupling attached to the fuel valve for receiving fuel from the fuel valve; and a plurality of struts, each strut having a proximal end and a distal end wherein each strut is rotatably connected to the coupling at the proximal end and each strut includes a winglet at the distal end.

  • Patent number: 5921294
Abstract: An apparatus attached to a fuel hose and deployed rearwardly of a tanker craft, the apparatus for inflight refueling of an aircraft and includes a fuel valve for controlling the flow of fuel through the valve, a coupler attached to the fuel valve for receiving and locking onto the probe of a receiving aircraft and for conveying fuel through the coupler and to the probe of the receiving aircraft, and a plurality of struts attached to the coupler, the struts configured and arranged to compress inwardly when acted upon by sufficient compressive forces and to expand outwardly against aerodynamic forces when located in the airstream, the struts forming a bell shaped target for guiding the probe of the receiving aircraft into the coupler.

  • Patent number: 5884872
Abstract: A lift enhancing device for a solid wing is disclosed wherein a where a mr driven, flap dynamically oscillating flap mechanism produces an increase in the lifting capabilities of the wing.

  • Patent number: 5566908
Abstract: An air-launchable gliding sonobuoy store includes a canister enclosing an flatable membranous wing folded in a collapsed state with an electroacoustic system. After launching, the wing inflates and a steering mechanism controls the wing glide path by skewing the trailing edge thereof. Upon reaching the sea, the wing serves as a buoy with the electroacoustic system transducer depending therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5335886
Abstract: A lift enhancing device for a solid wing is disclosed. A solid wing with a wept leading edge and unswept trailing edge has a rectangular flap attached along the trailing edge. The flap can be a single segment or can be a plurality of segments joined at contiguous edges. The flap oscillates during air movement and enhances the lift produced.

  • Patent number: 5226618
Abstract: A lift enhancing device for an inextensible, membraneous wing is disclosed. he device comprises the "forced" reattachment of a section of the trailing edge back to the trailing edge so that a warp is introduced therein. The section is reattached with flexible tape to allow oscillation of the section, and increased lift from the wing, at prescribed airspeeds.

  • Patent number: 4667898
Abstract: A remotely piloted vehicle is provided with single surface membranous airls controllable in flight. The airfoils are selectively deployed from a stowed position on either side within the fuselage by spars attached to the leading edges. Pivotal members attached to the root edges of the airfoils are positioned to regulate twist distribution, angle of attack, root camber ratio and root camber distribution.
