  • Patent number: 5120260
Abstract: An improved electrical connector for receiving a semirigid coaxial cable includes, at the proximal end of the connector body, an annular sleeve inwardly tapered to a diameter smaller than the minimum manufactured diameter of the cable, and a plurality of relatively narrow slots axially defined in the sleeve so that, as the cable is inserted into the connector body toward its proximal end, it enters and contacts the sleeve which diametrically expands at the slots to accommodate and firmly grasp the cable at the mating interface end of the connector.

  • Patent number: 4731928
Abstract: A cutting tool for preparing an end of semi-rigid coaxial cable for connector attachment includes interengageable piloting clamp and cutter head assemblies. The piloting clamp is provided with a bore for receiving the cable end, a coaxial shank portion from which the cable end is located to project a selected distance and a securement member for retaining the cable end in the piloting clamp. The cutter head includes a bore for receiving the piloting clamp shank portion and projecting cable end slidably and coaxially advanced therein, a cutter blade for cutting the insulating material and outer conductor of the cable away from its center conductor, and a stop for stopping advance of the shank portion in the cutter head so as to leave a predetermined length of the center conductor exposed.

  • Patent number: 4099825
Abstract: Adapter plugs are known for interconnecting two types of R.F. connectors, for example a threaded type coaxial plug to a bayonet type coaxial plug. The present invention incorporates within a standard adapter envelope movable contact members which short the input connection when in the unmated condition, but which permits the adapter to function as a constant impedance transmission line when mated.
