  • Patent number: 9947004
Abstract: Computer implemented systems and methods, including methods of transacting with wireless clients. Embodiments include, in various combinations, a client ID module, a scanning module configured to scan, or an act of scanning, a wireless channel set at a business locale for wireless signals of a registered customer set, or a combination thereof. Some embodiments identify out of the wireless signals certain wireless packets of a client of the registered customer set, calculate a first client signal strength of the first wireless packets, or both. In certain embodiments, a localization module calculates or is configured to calculate whether the first client is at a transaction area of the business locale, for example, based on the first client signal strength, for instance, without reliance on near field communication technology. Some embodiments include a training module or act, a point of service module or act, or both.

  • Publication number: 20160110814
Abstract: A method for modeling financial variables describing a client over a time period. The method may comprise the step of generating a first simulation of the time period. Generating the first simulation may comprise the steps of assigning the client to a first health-related state and advancing the first simulation from a first interval of the time period to a second interval of the time period. A probability that the client will transition from the first health-related state to a second health-related state may be calculated, the client may be randomly assigned to either the first health-related state or the second health-related state considering the probability. According to various embodiments, the methods may also comprise the steps of calculating a client income for the second interval; and calculating a plurality of client expenses for the second interval. Also, the various health-related states may include one or more of a healthy state, a long term care (LTC) state, a disabled state and a dead state.

  • Patent number: 8382963
Abstract: A droplet-free wear-resistant coating is manufactured by depositing a wear resistant nitride coating containing a nitride layer which contains at least one metal or metal compound of a metal selected from the group consisting of Ti, Cr, Al, Si and combinations thereof, on a surface of a substrate by cathodic-arc evaporation using a Venetian blind filter system in front of an arc cathode; to reduce metal microdroplets and/or metal microparticles in the wear resistant coating compared to an wear resistant coating obtained without a Venetian blind filter system.

  • Patent number: 7627512
Abstract: A method of displaying results of a financial model for forecasting at least one financial variable relating to a client. The method comprises the steps of receiving asset and liability data regarding the client; generating forecasted values for the financial variables over a number of simulations using the asset and liability data; and displaying a topographical chart on a user interface. The topographical chart may be positioned on a plane shown in the user interface. The plane may be defined by a time axis and a value axis for the at least one financial variable, such that a coordinate set on the plane represents the value of the at least one financial variable at a time point. The height of a first point on the topographical chart corresponding to the coordinate set may indicate a portion of the simulations that result in the coordinate set.

In one aspect, an elongate rod is provided having a first assembly coupled to a distal end of the elongate rod. The first assembly can have at least two degrees of freedom and can be configured for selectively attaching to a resistance source. In another aspect, the device further can have a second assembly attached to a proximal end of the elongate rod. The second assembly can have at least two degrees of freedom and can be configured for selectively attaching to a resistance source.

  • Publication number: 20080103988
Abstract: An interactive user interface for displaying information about one or more publicly traded companies at one time. The interface may comprise a two-dimensional chart comprising an x-axis and a y-axis and means for specifying financial metrics for the x- and y-axes. The interface may also include fields where the user can select the companies whose data is to be displayed on the chart. The interface may also include a time range selection field where the user can specify the date range for the date to be displayed on the chart. An identifier or other type of marker is positioned on the chart at the x and y coordinates for each of the publicly traded companies for each time point in the time range. Further, the markers for each company may be connected by a line. The line for each of the companies may be labeled with an identifier for the company (e.g., stock trading symbol) and each marker is labeled with a date indicator.

  • Patent number: 5872721
Abstract: A system adapted for removable placement in a security enclosure fitted into the wall of a refrigerated container for respiring perishables, and for monitoring and controlling, continuously and dynamically, over a programmed, desired time, the concentration of oxygen, and the concentration of dioxide, in such a container atmosphere where the concentrations of these gases vary over time as the perishables respire, includes devices for sensing, separately, the concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the container atmosphere, devices for establishing setpoints or desired values of oxygen and carbon dioxide atmospheric concentration within the container, and for changing those setpoints, over time, depending on the nature of the perishable and other variables, and for maintaining the atmospheric concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide at desired setpoints for desired programmed times by admitting outside air into the container, as a source of oxygen, and by scrubbing to remove carbon dioxide, as necess
