Abstract: Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) auto-provisioning using Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) auto-discovery is described. In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises VPLS logic and configuration logic. The VPLS logic is operable at least to receive and send configuration information for a VPLS instance, where the configuration information comprises: a first value that uniquely identifies the VPLS instance; and a plurality of second values that respectively and uniquely identify a plurality of network elements that are operable to provide the VPLS instance. The configuration logic is operable at least to automatically configure, based on the first value and on the plurality of second values, a CFM association and a local maintenance endpoint (MEP) for the VPLS instance on the apparatus.

Abstract: Methods and compositions for treating or preventing, the occurrence of senile dementia of the Alzheimer's type, mild cognitive impairment, or other conditions arising from reduced neuronal metabolism and leading to lessened cognitive function are described. In a preferred embodiment the administration of triglycerides or fatty acids with chain lengths between 5 and 12, to said patient at a level to produce an improvement in cognitive ability, and a therapeutic agent selected from the group consisting of anti-Alzheimer's agents, anti-diabetic agents, agents capable of increasing utilization of lipids, anti-atherosclerotic agents, anti-hypertensive agents, anti-inflammatory agents, anti-obesity agents, and combinations thereof. Preferred therapeutic agents include donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine, and memantine.

Abstract: A method for implementing self-chosen caller identification and instantaneous transmission of caller identification information before communications have been established is described. Aspects of the invention improve upon modem methods and bridge the gap between current technology that allows users to self-identify in communicating with other users and technology that transmits this information before a telephone call is answered. Furthermore, aspects of the invention allow a user to select his or her own identifying information (e.g., picture, ring tone, video) and send it to contacts in his or her contact database. A background transmission process transmits the identifying information upon selection, creating a fast and seamless method of self-identification for caller ID technology. The identifying information may be stored in an association database using factors such as events and identification type.

Abstract: The present invention is related to mammalian nutrition and effects thereof in individuals with age associated cognitive decline such as Age Associated Memory Inpairment (AAMI) or a dementing illness such as Alzheimer's disease or related dementia, or Mild Cognitive Impairment, such as improving performance in, or reversal, prevention, reducing and delaying decline in, one or more of cognitive function, memory, behavior, cerebrovascular function, motor function, and/or brain physiology are seen. In particular, the present invention utilizes medium chain triglycerides, in one embodiment, administered as part of a long-term treatment regimen, to preserve or improve learning, attention, motor performance, cerebrovascular function, social behavior, and to increase activity levels, particularly in aging mammals.

Abstract: The subject invention concerns the reduction of protein aggregation in the neurons of a mammal through the use of a ketogenic treatment such as a ketogenic diet, a physical training regimen and/or administration of agents to increase fatty acid oxidation. Such ketogenic treatment can be useful in the reduction of certain aggregates including amyloid ? peptide, polyglutamine containing huntintin protein, polyglutamine containing androgen receptor, polyglutamine containing atrophin-1, polyglutamine containing ataxins, ?-synclein, prion protein, tau and superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1).

Abstract: Non-native drivers are pre-integrated into the operating system of an image for a manufactured information handling system to allow the operating system to support the device associated with the non-native driver on initial boot of the manufactured information handling system. For instance, registry and critical device database information is parsed from a non-native hard disc drive controller driver and copied into the operating system of a manufactured information handling system so that the operating system will recognize the hard disc drive controller on initial boot to allow the operating system to be retrieved from the hard disc drive. Additionally, the non-native drive operating system information is copied to a source copy of the operating system on the hard disc drive for use in recovery of the operating system at the information handling system.
