  • Patent number: 5358097
Abstract: A pneumatic accumulation conveyor has an anti-singulation control capable of deactivating the drive of a zone if the product sensor for that zone and substantially all of the product sensors downstream of that zone sense the presence of product in order to produce an accumulation portion with no zones actuated and is capable of activating the drive of a zone if any of the drives downstream of the associated zone are actuated in order to produce a transport portion in which all zones upstream of any actuated drive are actuated to transport product without singulation of any upstream grouped product. The accumulation conveyor is controlled by retractable product sensors positioned at particular locations along the product conveyor in order to sense the presence of product at the particular locations.

  • Patent number: 4562921
Abstract: A track for conveyor chain is provided by a plastic member having sides and a flat cross web supported by a U-shaped channel to provide a low friction guide way for both the upper and return runs of the chain. The plastic guide way for both runs can be a pair of identical members or a single extrusion. The guide way and channel can be factory assembled in units of suitable length and mounted to the conveyor track at the point of installation with use of simple tools and without requiring any special skills.

  • Patent number: 4425069
Abstract: A transport for loading semitrailers and other similar cargo carrying vehicles includes a portable conveyor shaped to extend into a trailer, and load the same from front to rear. The portable conveyor is preferably self-propelled, and has steerable front wheels at the downstream end of the conveyor, with a steering arm to manually pilot the conveyor into the trailer, and around the loading dock area. A guidance mechanism positions the portable conveyor in a selected storage position in the loading area, and comprises a pair of guides which depend from the upstream end of the conveyor, and matingly receive a floor mounted guide rail therebetween. Ramp blocks are located at the base end of the guide rail to positively and safely stop the conveyor in the storage position.
