  • Patent number: 4832356
Abstract: This invention relates to a universal splash guard deflector for use with a vehicle in the vicinity of the vehicles wheels. The deflector in use is positioned behind a vehicle wheel in respect of the vehicles primary direction of travel. The splash guard deflector is comprised of a planar central portion defined by upper and lower edge regions, as well as inside and outside edge regions. The upper edge region is adapted to be secured to a portion of the vehicle.A splash deflecting element is integrally secured to the planar central portion along a line equidistant to one of the edge regions. A plurality of openings are disposed along the equidistant line to thereby allow for the passage of air due to vehicle movement in the primary direction of travel.

  • Patent number: 4476774
Abstract: A universal wind deflector for use in a vehicle window when the window is open. The deflector has a body that has a first and a second planar portion integrally joined along a line contained by both the first and second planar portions. This arrangement defines an overall deflector body which has the first and second planar portions joined at an angle, one to the other. The first and second planar portions each have separate window engaging means formed at one end of each of the planar portions. The other ends of each of the planar portions are provided with means to mechanically couple either end of the planar portion to a portion of the window frame whereupon, depending upon which of the first or second window engaging means are mechanically coupled to the open window, air currents from wind passing the vehicle will be drawn into the vehicle or be deflected away.

  • Patent number: 4349148
Abstract: This invention relates to a DC powered emergency heating system control circuit for use in combination with a gas furnace that includes an AC power supply for a thermostat to control a normally operated AC powered automatic gas valve, which gas valve provides gas for burning in a plenum chamber. The control circuit includes an auxiliary fan and circuits responsive to the interruption of AC power to provide in a repetitive sequence, DC power pulses of one polarity to the automatic gas valve, followed by energization of the auxiliary fan, followed by the application of DC power of an opposite polarity to the gas valve. This repetitive sequence thereby ensures alternate periods of convection and auxiliary fan induced forced air heating while simultaneously protecting the normally AC powered gas valve from the deleterious magnetism effect brought on by the continuous emergency DC powered operation of the gas valve.
