  • Patent number: 8939940
Abstract: A syringe for use in the pressurized injection of a fluid. The syringe includes a syringe barrel composed of a polymeric material having undergone expansion via blow molding, and an injection molded attachment mechanism which is integral with the syringe barrel and is located at the proximal end of the syringe barrel. The syringe barrel has a consistent wall thickness and is capable of withstanding pressures of at least 1200 psi. The syringe barrel includes a biaxial stretch sidewall as a result of the blow molding process while the attachment mechanism remains essentially unchanged by the blow molding process. The polymeric material can be, for example, polyethyleneterephthalate, cyclic olefin polymer, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyvinylidene chloride, polyethylene naphthalate and/or nylon.

  • Publication number: 20100241085
Abstract: A syringe for use in a pressurized injection of a fluid includes a syringe barrel including a polymeric material having undergone expansion via blow molding. An inner diameter of the syringe barrel can, for example, be sufficiently constant (over at least a portion of the axial length of the syringe) that a plunger slidably positioned within the syringe barrel and in generally sealing contact with an inner wall of the syringe barrel can be used within the syringe barrel to generate a pressure of at least 1 psi within the syringe barrel. In several embodiment, the inner diameter of the syringe barrel is sufficiently constant to generate a pressure of at least 100 psi, at least 300 psi, or even at least 500 psi within the syringe barrel.

  • Publication number: 20090283730
Abstract: A hand-held lightweight tightener for tightening the girth strap of a saddle has a handle for leverage, a broad curved cam surface to act as a fulcrum, and a prong to fit in a belt hole on the girth strap. This tightening device can be used to engage and pull at an easily accessible belt hole so that more of the billet strap can be brought through the buckle on the girth strap. Once more billet strap is brought through the buckle, the strap can be buckled through one of the holes of the billet strap, and the tightener removed. The tightener is suitable for hanging on a saddle while riding. The tightener may be used for belt systems other than on a saddle. Optionally, the device has a hoof pick and a compass.

  • Patent number: 7153455
Abstract: The method involves making a hollow blow molded thermoplastic article having an integral handle. An unblown preform of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is inserted into a blow mold and thereafter stretched by a stretch rod. Blow gas is then injected into the interior of the preform when the blow mold is closed and the preform is at a stretch temperature. After the preform is blown into the shape of the bottle in the mold, blow gas is discharged from the stretch rod onto an interior wall surface where the handle is to be formed. Heated movable mold segments are then advanced within the blow mold from a first retracted position to a second position thereby compressing an interior wall surface of the article into contact with a facing interior wall surface of the bottle to bond the surfaces at an elevated temperature and form an integral handle extending from the exterior wall of the blow molded article.

  • Patent number: 5564851
Abstract: A roller applicator device and method for distributing preparations on a user's skin and, in particular, hard to reach body parts. The applicator comprises a roller portion for containing and distributing a preparation, a detachable and extendable handle portion, and a resealable storage container. In order to use the applicator, the extendable handle portion is attached to the roller portion. The roller portion comprises a sealed canister containing a preparation and having a porous layer on the exterior of the canister for distributing the preparation to the user's skin. The canister has apertures through which the preparation is discharged due to centrifugal forces incurred by rolling the applicator over the user's body. There is a locking device that when engaged, prohibits the roller from rotating and may be used to rub preparation into the user's skin.

  • Patent number: 5185163
Abstract: A reheat blow mold machine includes a preform loader, an oven, a mold station and a preform transfer mechanism for transporting preforms form the oven to the mold station. A loader defines a plurality of lanes within which the preforms are supported. A reciprocal jaw assembly moves the preforms from a receiving end to a load end of the oven. The oven includes a plurality of tandemly arranged abutting pallets which rotatably support the preforms. The pallets are stepped through the oven and moved between a receiving end and a discharge end by a pair of elevators and a return conveyor. The transfer mechanism includes two sets of jaw assemblies, a pair of slidable actuators and a compensation mechanism to automatically adjust for tolerance variations in the diameter of the performs. A mold station includes a pair of opposed platens which support mold halves. A bottom platen is positioned by a cam arrangement mounted on the opposed platens.
