  • Publication number: 20110113576
Abstract: A toothbrush and method of brushing the teeth of a user. The toothbrush comprises a toothbrush handle having one or more toothbrush heads movable with respect to the handle. There are bristles provided on the toothbrush head or heads and those bristles can be along a single plane or may be along a plurality of planes. The flexibility and movability between the toothbrush handle and the toothbrush head allows the user to brush the teeth in a smooth, even pattern across the teeth, that is, the toothbrush handle can be used to manipulate the toothbrush head from the rear of one side of the teeth to the rear of the other side of the teeth without removing the toothbrush head from the mouth of the user. As such, users with difficulty carrying out complex manipulation of the toothbrush handle can still fully brush the teeth.

  • Patent number: 4629424
Abstract: A device is disclosed for intraoral ambient sensing. In this embodiment, the device comprises a removable oral (Hawley) appliance containing a number of chemically sensitive electrodes and a common reference electrode at the chemical sensing sites and a telemetry unit plus power pack for signal transmission. This device may also be used to monitor non-chemical parameters, notably pressure, temperature, and flow. In this embodiment, the removable oral (Hawley) appliance contains a number of sensors to monitor the parameter of interest. For example, a pressure sensor configured as an artificial uvula and mounted to the oral (Hawley) appliance emulates actual uvula pressure events. To monitor chewing events, a pressure sensor is mounted to the oral (Hawley) appliance in such a manner that it is optimally located at an open bite location of the mouth. In either embodiment, a telemetry unit mounted to the oral (Hawley) appliance transmits the intraoral ambient information as radio frequency signal bursts.

  • Patent number: 4224307
Abstract: The mouthwash is a liquefied composition of an effective amount of a non-necrotic fatty acid compound prepared from an unsubstituted, unsaturated fatty acid having at least one double bond, water, an effective amount of a buffering agent, 1 to 10 percent of ethanol, and at least one oil soluble flavorant. The pH of the liquefied composition is between 9 and 11.
