  • Publication number: 20240316640
Abstract: According to the invention, a method is provided for additively manufacturing a component, in particular a metallic component, said method having the steps of: ? providing at least one substrate (I), in particular a substrate plate, the substrate being formed from one or more metallic substrate materials which has a martensite start temperature (Ms) below 140° C.

  • Publication number: 20240033827
Abstract: A method for the generative manufacturing of components, the method comprising melting of a metallic filler material along a trajectory on a substrate, wherein a component is built up layer by layer on the substrate, wherein the component is spatially selectively tempered by a directed fluid jet during the build-up of a layer or subsequently to the build-up of a layer and prior to the build-up of a further layer, depending on at least one spatially resolved temperature measured value detected at a specific location on the layer by a sensor or a cooling curve derived from a plurality of these temperature measured values successively detected at the location, wherein the component is spatially selectively exposed to an aerosol jet comprising a material constituent which undergoes an endothermic phase transition when the aerosol jet hits the component.

  • Publication number: 20070033544
Abstract: A display screen magnifier is controllable by a user to magnify selected portions of a desktop including windows open on the screen. A moveable magnifier frame is provided, within which a magnified image is presented. The magnified image corresponds to screen content located within a magnification region underlying the magnifier frame, magnified to a set level of magnification. The magnifier is controllable through use of a user input device. At least one operational parameter of the magnifier can be adjusted, without interaction with on-screen objects and without taking focus away from the desktop or any windows open on the screen. In a particular embodiment of the invention, on-the-fly controllability of the magnifier includes its activation and deactivation, adjustment of the magnification level, and adjustment of the size of the magnifier frame.

  • Publication number: 20060281188
Abstract: The invention generally relates to devices, systems and methods adapted for use by patients for monitoring their own dietary intake of sodium without any need of laboratory facilities or collection of blood samples. The systems utilize test strips for measuring the concentration of analytes in urine, specifically, chloride and creatinine. Urinary chloride concentrations, normalized by creatinine concentrations to reduce variability contributed mainly by changing states of hydration serve as a conveniently monitored surrogate for salt intake by subjects, especially patients with hypertension or congestive heart failure who must control their salt intake carefully.

  • Patent number: 4030507
Abstract: A piercing assembly adapted to facilitate the piercing of an earlobe and provide sterilized storage and handling of the piercing earring is provided. The assembly includes a piercing earring having an enlarged portion and a piercing pin extending therefrom and a cartridge configured to receive the earring. The cartridge includes a first elongated opening partially supporting the pin and a second opening in longitudinal alignment with the first opening. A cartridge housing includes at least one chamber for receiving a cartridge. A plunger device is adapted to longitudinally displace a plunger and to receive said cartridge housing. The cartridge housing aligns the cartridge openings with the plunger, whereby the plunger enters the second cartridge opening, contacts the piercing earring and effects a forcing of the enlarged portion of the piercing earring through the first elongated opening.
