  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Patent number: 7004209
Abstract: The present invention provides a flexible mounting for securing at least one evacuation member to a fitment for use in a collapsible bag. The mounting comprises a peripheral ring adapted to fit within a spout of the fitment, a central member to which the at least one evacuation member is secured and a plurality of spring members extending between the peripheral ring and the central member, the spring members supporting the central member while permitting the central member to be displaced relative to the peripheral ring.

  • Patent number: 6637725
Abstract: A single service package coupling and valve includes a fitment having a spout and a sliding tubular valve member mounted therein for receiving a cooperating dispensing connector of a liquid distributing and dispensing system, and an external adapter ring designed to cooperate with the mounting mechanisms of a plurality of conventional commercially available dispensing connectors. An internal adapter sleeve is mounted with in the sliding tubular valve member to provide a tight seal with any of the conventional dispensing connectors. The external adapter ring is provided with a pair of radially extending flanges adapted to accept and position different dispensing connectors. At least one of the radially extending flanges is provided with at least two wings to engage a threaded mounting collar of a service line connector.

  • Patent number: 5961001
Abstract: A spout for dispensing liquid from a closed container has a cap that fits over a fitment or neck on the container, the cap being provided with a sleeve within which a reciprocating barrel may slide from a closed position to an open position. The barrel has a longitudinal vent groove on its upper surface that serves as a passage to admit atmospheric air to equalize internal and external pressure. The cap is provided with a flap that blocks the groove when the internal pressure is close to atmospheric pressure, but opens to admit air when the internal pressure drops significantly below the atmospheric pressure outside the container.
