Abstract: An airbag module mounting device that facilitates installation of an inflator in a vehicle. The mounting device has a mounting plate and retention devices extending from the mounting plate. The retention devices may be clips that flex to receive an outer edge of the inflator flange, and snap into engagement with the flange to grip the flange against the mounting plate to securely retain the inflator against the mounting plate. Alternatively, the retention devices may be snaps that extend through holes in the inflator flange. The retention devices may also include rigid retainers that slidably receive the inflator flange and retention arms that snap into position to lock the flange in place.
