Abstract: A golf club head having a body. Disposed in the body in the toe to heel direction adjacent the club face is a weight. The body also contains spaced, parallel solid weights that extend from the rear wall of the body toward the club face. The parallel, solid weights are at right angles to the tubular weight and extend adjacent to the tubular weight. One solid weight is located at the heel of the body and another solid weight is located at the toe of the body. Through this arrangement, the club head has face balancing to reduce the incidence of gyrations and vibrations. Also, the club head provides a soft touch to the golfer upon contact between the club head and the golf ball.

Abstract: A column of high viscosity fluid is installed in a selected portion of the hollow shaft of a golf club. This fluid which does not flow readily reinforces the shaft and minimizes the bending and deformation thereof during the golf stroke. The location along the shaft at which the fluid column is installed is selectively chosen to provide an optimum natural vibration frequency for the shaft, a location closer to the club head providing a lower natural vibration frequency.

Abstract: The grips in a set of golf clubs (both woods and irons) are made progressively greater in diameter in going from the number one iron to the sand wedge and the driver through the fairway woods, the grip diameter for each club being designed for maximum control and accuracy for that club.
