  • Patent number: 11841038
Abstract: The present invention relates to a panel clamp securable to a variety of mounting mechanisms. The clamp includes first and second members, each having an edge extending beyond at least a portion of its side surface to form an overhang, and each includes a plurality of holes passing therethrough. When the overhang of the first member is fitted over a top surface of a panel and the overhang of the second member is fitted over a bottom surface of the panel, such that the plurality of holes in the first member is substantially aligned with the plurality of holes in the second member, mechanical fasteners can be inserted through the plurality of holes to secure the first and second members to the panel. An additional mechanical fastener is inserted through the clamp to secure the clamp to a mounting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 11689821
Abstract: An Incoherent Fourier ptychographic imaging system. Multiple known light patterns are projected sequentially onto a target and images of the combined pattern and target are recorded by a camera, with the images being processed using an optical transfer function (OTF). The camera and projection system are aligned along the same optical axis. The known illumination patterns and the optical transfer function (OTF) are combined in an iterative algorithm to generate an image with resolution greater than would be achieved by uniform illumination of the target and imaging with the camera.

  • Publication number: 20220375034
Abstract: A method for using a single-pixel camera to reconstruct images of objects obscured by fog or other dynamic scattering media. A pseudo-random phase or intensity pattern is imposed on illumination beams directed at a target. The beam with the imposed pattern forms a pseudo random pattern on the target. Information regarding the pattern imposed on each pulse is entered into a data processor/controller. The illumination beams with the pseudo random patterns are reflected off the target, collected by receiving optics and a bucket detector and converted into electronic signals fed into the data processor/controller. The data processor/controller applies a high-pass filter to remove slower signal variations produced by dynamic changes in the scattering medium over time. The filtered bucket values are then used together with their corresponding speckle patterns to generate the images using any appropriate reconstruction algorithm such as CGI or CSI.

  • Patent number: 10252430
Abstract: A hair trimmer includes a cutting head and a body configured for easy reach of the hard to reach places, such as behind ears. This is achieved by shaping a front portion of the body to have cutouts behind the cutting head, which allow the trimmer to navigate around parts such as an ear. The cutouts also improve air flow around the front of the trimmer's body, thereby improving performance and durability of internal trimmer components through better cooling. The walls of the cutouts may have air ducts to further improve the cooling of the internal components. The cutouts also reduce the vibration of the cutting head and the body, leading to better trimming experience for the user and to improved durability of the trimmer. The method of using a trimmer with a cutting head and a body configured for easy reach of hard to reach places, such as behind ears, is also described.

  • Patent number: 10096255
Abstract: This disclosure describes an unmanned aerial vehicle (“UAV”) and system that may perform one or more techniques for protecting objects from damage resulting from an unintended or uncontrolled impact by a UAV. As described herein, various implementations utilize a damage avoidance system that detects a risk of damage to an object caused by an impact from a UAV that has lost control and takes steps to reduce or eliminate that risk. For example, the damage avoidance system may detect that the UAV has lost power and/or is falling at a rapid rate of descent such that, upon impact, there is a risk of damage to an object with which the UAV may collide. Upon detecting the risk of damage and prior to impact, the damage avoidance system activates a damage avoidance system having one or more protection elements that work in concert to reduce or prevent damage to the object upon impact by the UAV.

  • Patent number: 9586683
Abstract: This disclosure describes a configuration of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that will facilitate extended flight duration. The UAV may have any number of lifting motors. For example, the UAV may include four lifting motors (also known as a quad-copter), eight lifting motors (octo-copter), etc. Likewise, to improve the efficiency of horizontal flight, the UAV also includes a thrusting motor and propeller assembly that is oriented at approximately ninety degrees to one or more of the lifting motors. When the UAV is moving horizontally, it may be determined if the horizontal airspeed of the UAV exceeds an airspeed threshold. If the horizontal airspeed exceeds the airspeed threshold, the thrusting motor may be engaged and the thrusting propeller will aid in the horizontal propulsion of the UAV.
