Abstract: A device (45) receives new program files (46) and uses pre-internalized images to avoid having to internalize a program file every time that program execution occurs. In one embodiment, a software Virtual Machine (50) in the device functions to implement the pre-internalization. Once the program files are pre-internalized to create images that are stored in a permanent memory (56) of the device, the images may subsequently be executed without having to perform a pre-internalization operation. Additionally, use of dynamic memory (52) is reduced in connection with subsequent program execution and execution time of new program files is reduced.

Abstract: A toothbrush has a brush head of bristles joined to a gripping portion which when grasped and used by a user in a natural, common and ordinary manner, results in the brush head being positioned automatically at a 45.degree. angle with the long axis of the teeth; the preferred tooth cleaning position of the Dr. Skillman and Dr. Bass toothbrushing method. The handle is a symmetrical four-sided column having a cross-section which can be circumscribed by a square with one diagonal parallel to the bristles of the brush head.

Abstract: A toothbrush for efficient cleaning of the teeth, the area under the sulcus and between the teeth and for massage and stimulation of the gums, has a plurality of spaced longitudinally extending rows of bristles in center and outer rows extending from the brushhead. The bristles of the center rows extend perpendicularly to the brushhead and the bristles of each of the outer rows are inclined in different directions relative to the bristles of the center rows. The bristles of each of the outer rows are inclined in one direction from approximately the center of the row to one end thereof and in the opposite direction from approximately the center of the row to the opposite end thereof. Each of the one and opposite directions is away from a normal line at approximately the center of the row. The bristles of the outer rows may also be inclined away from the planes of the bristles of the center rows.

Abstract: The present invention is a toothbrush provided with a teeth brushing surface and two gum treatment brush surfaces which distributes the brushforce to optimally and automatically clean the tooth surfaces, clean under the sulcus and massage the gums during casual horizontal brushing. The gum treatment brush surfaces can be integral with the tooth portion or disposed on an outrigger brush body that may be attached to a conventional toothbrush or one specially adapted for that purpose.

Abstract: An improved toothbrush advantageously designed for horizontal brushing and selectively distributing brushing forces between the teeth and gums such that the teeth surfaces and gums are simultaneously cleaned and stimulated without damage to the gums.
