  • Publication number: 20200093400
Abstract: The present disclosure describes devices, methods and systems for modifying or altering gait kinematics via sensory augmentation and/or modifying muscle activation patterns via augmented motor learning to slow the progression of and/or reduce the pain associated with knee OA, particularly during gait (e.g., walking, running, stair climbing, etc.). Sensors can be used to measure gait parameters and characteristics and muscle activation patterns. Stimulation can be provided to the individual in order to promote learning new gait kinematics and muscle activation patterns.

  • Publication number: 20200046310
Abstract: Synchronizing operation between a digital radiographic detector's integration periods and an x-ray generator's x-ray pulse rate by transmitting a frame rate to the detector and the generator. In a first mode, the detector monitors one or more pixels to detect an x-ray pulse. The firing time of the detected x-ray pulse relative to an internal clock of the detector is used to synchronize the detector's integration periods with the pulse rate of the x-ray generator based on the transmitted frame rate and the detected firing time of the x-ray pulses. Successive pulses may also be used to determine a frame rate without prior transmission thereof.

  • Patent number: 10386487
Abstract: A GmAPD-based LiDAR system and methods for developing a point-cloud image of a detection region are disclosed. The methods include scanning the detection region during a plurality of detection frames that defines an image frame. In each detection frame, the detection region is interrogated with a different one of a series of optical pulses and reflections of the optical pulse are detected at a GmAPD-based receiver that is gated such that a different sampling region within the detection region is selectively sampled in each detection frame. The sampling regions are defined such that longer-range areas of the detection region are sampled more times in the image frame than shorter-range areas of the detection region. As a result, objects throughout the entire detection region can be detected with high SNR.

  • Publication number: 20190199944
Abstract: A digital radiographic detector detects a first mode signal and dispositions a received digital image according to a procedure associated with the first mode signal. A second mode signal results in dispositioning a second received digital image according to a second image disposition procedure. The detector determines the first mode or second mode based on the signal's pulse width, a number and timing of rising edges (peaks), a digital code, a voltage level, or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20190134393
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for peripheral nerve stimulation, particularly for treating tremor. The nerve stimulation may be accomplished by a wearable nerve stimulation device, such as a band configured to be worn on the wrist or other body part. The device can accomplish targeted nerve stimulation using circumferentially spaced electrodes. In some embodiments, the device may use only the same number of electrodes as the number of nerves that are to be stimulated. A biphasic charge-balanced waveform may be used to selectively stimulate a nerve near one of the activated electrodes but not to stimulate the nerve near the other activated electrode. The device may use dry electrodes for long-term, repeated use. The dry electrodes may include a conductive base layer and a polymeric, plastic or rubber skin contact layer comprising a conductive filler. The filler may be a powder, fiber, conductive coating, etc.

  • Publication number: 20180364337
Abstract: Disclosed are improved LiDAR systems methods employing late-lock Geiger mode detection. In sharp contrast to the prior art, a late-lock Geiger mode detection system and/or method utilizes a pulsed laser and asynchronous avalanche photodiodes with a holdoff time between photodiode arm pulses that are substantially equal to—but slightly less than—the laser pulse period. Preferably, such difference between the holdoff time and the pulse period is <10 nsec.
