  • Patent number: 11203071
Abstract: Disclosed is a core drill guide apparatus for providing a guide for a core drill apparatus to drill into a substrate to form a removable core. The apparatus includes an elongate body with an outer surface and inner space, having an entrance end, an exit end and side walls, a distance between the ends defining a length or height of the elongate body and a width. An passageway extends through the elongate body from entrance to exit end, adapted so that in use, it provides sliding receipt of a fastening system to clamp the apparatus to an outer surface surrounding a first hole in a substrate, allowing the apparatus to abut the outer surface and drill out a core in the substrate underneath and surrounding the first hole. A corresponding guide method and fastening system are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5873186
Abstract: An excavating machine is provided having a cleaning member for cleaning spoil out of an earth cutting device having a digging wheel assembly. The digging wheel assembly has a rim structure and a series of circumferentially spaced peripherally extended bucket members, the rim structure and the bucket members in combination having an interior profile. The cleaning member has a cleaning face corresponding substantially in size and shape to the interior profile of the rim structure and the bucket member in order to remove any spoil which has accumulated in the rim structure and the bucket member when the rim structure and the bucket member come into contact with the cleaning face of the cleaning member.

  • Patent number: 5809670
Abstract: An excavating machine is provided having an adjustable grooving device for forming a groove in the bottom of a trench. The excavating machine has a power unit, a supporting frame assembly operably attached to the power unit, an earth cutting device to form a trench behind the excavating machine, and a shoe assembly operably attached to the supporting frame assembly to prevent a cave-in of the sidewalls of the trench. The adjustable grooving device is attached to the bottom of and extends below the shoe assembly and is comprised by two arcuate groove plates which pivot relative to one another to form an arc of varying radius. A hand crank is operably attached to a linear actuator for pivoting the arcuate groove plates relative to one another to adjust the radius of the groove to be formed.
