  • Publication number: 20240430760
Abstract: A method is provided where handover information about one or more target beams of a target cell is provided. The beam quality of those target beams is determined along with beam quality of one or more other beams of the target cell. Dedicated uplink resources associated with the target beams and shared uplink resources are associated with the other beams. It is determined based on the beam quality which of the target and other beams is to be used to initiate a connection to the target cell.

  • Publication number: 20240430888
Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to grant skipping for a small data transmission (SDT) procedure. A first device determines whether data is available for transmission on a grant, the grant being allocated for a SDT procedure established between the first device and a second device. In accordance with a determination that the data is unavailable, the first device determines whether the transmission on the grant is to be skipped. In accordance with a determination that the transmission on the grant is not to be skipped, the first device performs the transmission on the grant to the second device, the transmission conveying a predetermined type of information without conveying the data. Through this solution, the SDT procedure between the devices can be maintained as long as possible, to allow the first device to transmit subsequent data to or receive subsequent data from the second device without initiating a new SDT procedure.

  • Publication number: 20240421886
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer-readable storage medium for determination of concurrent beam failure. In some example embodiments, a terminal device detects a first beam failure associated with a first set of reference signals used for beam failure detection. The terminal device determines whether a second beam failure associated with a second set of reference signals used for beam failure detection is recovered in response to detecting the first beam failure.

  • Publication number: 20240422827
Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to bandwidth part selections of random access procedure. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a terminal device receives configuration information from a network device. The configuration information indicates a set of BWPs and configurations of the set of BWPs. When a random access procedure is triggered for a certain feature combination, the terminal device determines whether a condition for switching to a target BWP is fulfilled. If the condition is fulfilled, the terminal device switches to the target BWP. In this way, it improves resource efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20240422826
Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to resource selections of random access procedure. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, when a random access procedure is triggered for a certain feature combination, the terminal device determines the random access channel (RACH) partition to use based on a defined priority order of (RACH-partition) features whenever a RACH partition that would have matched the feature combination for which the RA procedure is triggered is not provided in the cell. The priority order could be pre-defined in the standards, provided by the Mobile Network Operators (MNO), or signaled dynamically by the network via system information or dedicated signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) or medium access control (MAC) signaling). In this way, better resource selections may be achieved. Moreover, it does not need to configure resources for any possible combinations of features.

  • Publication number: 20240396612
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of TRP beam failure recovery. The method comprises determining a set of failed cells associated with the first device based on a beam failure detection; and generating a beam failure report indicating respective one or more failure detection resource sets associated with at least a portion of the set of failed cells. In this way, the UE may determine the information included in the BFR MAC CE in a case where the UL grant is not enough to include all the information for the failed serving cells or the BFR MAC to be transmitted on the MSG3 or MSGA in a CBRA procedure on the SpCell.

  • Publication number: 20240397571
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to communication for SDT. A first device transmits a resume request for SDT to a second device. The second device transmits, to the first device, a message for rejecting the resume request for a part of data transmissions, said part including SDT. In this way, a resume procedure for non-SDT may still be possible. Further, not congested resources for SDT or non-SDT may be used even in case of RRC reject procedure. In addition, services may be not delayed.

  • Publication number: 20240389135
Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to random access to a secondary cell (SCell). A first device receives, from a second device, configuration information indicating first resources for the first device to perform a random access to a secondary cell of the first device. Radio network temporary identifiers corresponding to the first resources are different from radio network temporary identifiers corresponding to second resources configured for a random access to a primary cell of the first device. The first device selects a resource from the first resources and transmits, to the second device via the secondary cell, a random access request by using the selected resource.

  • Publication number: 20240357662
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices, apparatuses, and computer readable medium for adaptive backoff for random access channel (RACH). The method comprises: transmitting, at a first device and to a second device, a first message for requesting a first random access to a cell of the second device, resources of the cell being partitioned into a plurality of partitions for a plurality of features, and the first random access associated with a first partition for at least a first feature of the plurality of features; and receiving, from the second device, a second message comprising backoff information corresponding to one of the first feature and the first partition. Since the network is capable of providing backoff applicability information per features or per RACH partitions, the UE using a congested RACH partition can apply backoff in the RA procedure, while accessing of legacy UE or a UE using a RACH partition without congestion would not be affected.
