    Abstract: A computer system has a memory area, a processor, and at least one music-related file. The computer system is powered on long enough to load music-playing software into memory. Then, all devices not needed to play the music-related file are either shut off, or powered down to a lower power-consumption level. A CPU throttle may also be employed to further reduce power consumption. The computer system then processes and plays the music-related files.
