Abstract: A memory card connector includes a dielectric housing having at least one terminal-receiving slot. A conductive terminal is mounted in the slot and includes a generally U-shaped section defining a fixing leg and a contact leg joined by a spring bend. The fixing leg is fixed to the housing. The contact leg is resiliently flexible and has a contact portion for engaging a contact on a memory card. A latch mechanism is interengaged between the fixing leg and the contact leg for preloading the resiliently flexible contact leg with a preload force while allowing the contact leg to flex upon engagement with the memory card.

Abstract: An electrical connector system is provided for a mobile phone which includes a lower housing disposed beneath a printed circuit board having a plurality of circuit traces on a bottom side thereof. The housing includes at least one cavity in an upper side thereof opposite the bottom side of the printed circuit board. A connector module is positionable in the cavity and includes a frame having at least one connector thereon. The connector has at least one flexible contact for surface-engaging a respective circuit trace on the bottom side of the printed circuit board. A complementary interengaging mounting structure is provided between the frame of the connector module and the lower phone housing to releasably mount the module in the cavity. Thereby the module easily can be selectively removed from the housing for repair or replacement purposes.

Abstract: A handheld type electronic device of this invention includes two housings respectively provided with electronic system components, a rotary device, and an electrical connector electrically connecting the electronic system components in the two housings. The invention is characterized in that the rotary device has a pivoting portion disposed on one side of one of the housings to rotatably connect with the other one of the housings, and a receiving portion. The electrical connector is disposed in the receiving portion and is confined in the housing provided with the rotary device such that rotation of the pivoting portion can bring the two housings to open or close while the electrical connector remains immovable.

Abstract: A system provides an electrical connection with a flat circuit and includes a generally rigid dielectric support structure. The flat circuit is located on one side of the support structure. A terminal includes a contact portion at an opposite side of the support structure for electrically engaging a complementary connecting device. A shank portion of the terminal extends from the contact portion through the support structure. A terminating portion at an end of the shank portion is terminated to an appropriate conductor of the flat circuit at the one side of the support structure.

Abstract: A grounding system is disclosed in an electrical connector assembly which provides an interconnection between a pc card and a printed circuit board. The assembly includes a header connector subassembly having a body adapted for receiving the pc card. A plurality of header terminals are mounted on the body, with pin portions of the terminals adapted for interconnection to receptacle contacts of the pc card. A grounding shroud is disposed over the terminal and includes downwardly extending grounding terminal portions. A board-mounted connector subassembly includes a housing adapted for mating with the body of the header connector subassembly. A plurality of socket terminals are mounted on the housing for mating with the header terminals of the header connector subassembly, with socket tail portions adapted for interconnection with circuit traces on the printed circuit board.
