  • Patent number: 7379570
Abstract: An optical engine for fingerprint reader with a one-piece optical prism has double functions of prism and lens for replacing optical engines of traditional fingerprint readers that consists of a right-angle prism and a lens. Thus the volume of the device is minimized for the convenience of being modularized Moreover, there is a complete light path between the fingerprint and the sensing device so as to increase the signal to noise ratio (S/N) and the reliability as well as the stability of the optical engine. Furthermore, a LED light source is disposed around an optical prism while an arched concave with diameter of 120 mm for being pressed by finger is formed with ergonomically design so as to have more clear image of fingerprint.

  • Patent number: 7268959
Abstract: A lens module includes a lens set, a rotation base, an outer case, elastic members, a driving device having a stepping motor and a base frame. The lens set is fixed inside the rotation base that is elastically arranged between an upper case and a lower case by elastic members. By clockwise/counterclockwise rotation of the stepping motor outside the rotation base, the rotation base is driven to rotate. Furthermore, a plurality of sloped grooved surface that goes from shallow to deep and faces downwards is disposed on circular bottom surface of the rotation base and each sloped grooved surface presses homogeneously on a corresponding supporting point of the power case by elastic members. When the rotation base rotates, the sloped grooved surface moves relative to the supporting point so that the gap between the shallow and deep grooved surfaces becomes focusing travel. Furthermore, the base frame assembles or disassembles with the lens module by a fastening mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20070001087
Abstract: A webcam clip is disclosed. The webcam is a U-shaped frame with a clipping part and a pivoting part formed by bent metal wire with certain wire diameter. The clipping part makes the present invention easily clip on edges of panels while the pivoting part is formed by two rear ends of the U-shaped frame for being disposed on a first concave hole arranged symmetrically on right and left sides of a housing of webcam so as to form a pivot between the U-shaped frame and the housing. Therefore, the angles of lens are adjustable. Moreover, a guiding slot is arranged above the first concave hole for connecting the first concave hole with a second concave hole so as to make the pivoting part of the clip elastically move from the first concave hole to the second concave hole along the guiding slot and the device is in folded form. Or the pivoting part can move in reverse direction, from the second concave hole to the first concave hole, along the guiding slot for being used.
