  • Patent number: 10616448
Abstract: An image processing apparatus that is capable of converting an original color image into a monochrome image to which color scheme intention of the original color image is reflected appropriately. An extraction unit extracts colors used for characters and figures in color data. A first determination unit determines one of the colors as a base color. A second determination unit determines another of the colors as an accent color. An application unit converts the color data into monochrome data by applying a predetermined gray to the base color determined and applying a gray that is distinguishable from the predetermined gray and has a density higher than the predetermined gray to the accent color.

  • Patent number: 8259343
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing device which is capable of avoiding disappearance of print data such as thin lines by increasing probability in which an original image is stored even after resolution conversion processing is executed to a binary image. In order to achieve this, the present invention may leave the pixels in any of the two lines halftone-processed with same threshold value row after the resolution conversion in a given ratio.

  • Patent number: 8186594
Abstract: The characteristic variations of a printer largely influence the recognition precision of code information, and the recognition precision of code information appended to printed matter cannot often be guaranteed depending on printers. To solve this problem, a printer forms a predetermined chart, and the image forming characteristics of the printer are detected from the code information recorded on the chart. A generation method of generating code information obtained by encoding information to a regular sequence of a pixel cluster is controlled in accordance with the image forming characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6332666
Abstract: In a laser beam printer, it is thought that the number of scanning lines for the unit length in a sheet carrying direction (a resolution of a sub scanning direction) can be changed by making processing speed in the sheet carrying direction changeable. Further, in a general printer, raster data is generated based on vector data or code data from a superior apparatus (expansion). Ordinarily, in the printer, the raster data corresponding to resolution of a printing unit is generated by the expansion, and the generated raster data is output to the printing unit.
