Patent number: 10856394Abstract: A load control system may be configured using a graphical user interface software. The graphical user interface software may display a first icon and a second icon. The first icon may represent a first electrical device and the second icon may represent a second electrical device. The first icon and the second icon may represent the relative location of the first electrical device and the second electrical device within a load control environment. The graphical user interface software may display a line from a selected icon (e.g., first icon) to a cursor. The graphical user interface software may adjust the line from the selected icon, for example, as the cursor moves. The graphical user interface software may define and store an association between the first electrical device and a second electrical device, for example, in response to the user selecting the first icon and the second icon.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2017Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: Lutron Technology Company LLCInventors: Ritika Arora, Manisha Dahiya Baluja, John N. Callen, Erica L. Clymer, Sanjeev Kumar, Mark Law, Sandeep Mudabail Raghuram, Anurag Singh, Christopher Spencer

Publication number: 20200310371Abstract: A load control system may include control devices for controlling power provided to an electrical load. The control devices may include a control-source device and a control-target device. The control-target device may control the power provided to the electrical load based on digital messages received from the control-source device. The control devices may include a load control discovery device capable of sending discovery messages configured to discover control devices within a location. The discovered control devices may be organized by signal strength and may be provided to a network device to enable association of the discovered control devices within a location. The discovery messages may be transmitted within an established discovery range. The discovery range may be adjusted to discover different control devices. Different control devices may be identified as the load control discovery device for discovering different control devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2020Publication date: October 1, 2020Applicant: Lutron Technology Company LLCInventors: Kyle Thomas Barco, Bryan Robert Barnes, Erica L. Clymer, Brian Michael Courtney, Jordan H. Crafts, William Bryce Fricke, Galen Edgar Knode, Sanjeev Kumar, Jonathan T. Lenz, Stephen M. Ludwig, JR., Sandeep Mudabail Raghuram, Richard M. Walsh, III

Publication number: 20200288558Abstract: A load control system may be commissioned using beacons. The load control system may include control devices that each include a beacon transmitting circuit configured to transmit a beacon that comprises an identifier associated with the control device. A network device, such as a mobile device, may discover a control device based on the beacon received from the control device. In response to discovery of the control device, the control device may be added to a temporary group of control devices for being collectively configured and/or controlled. Control devices may be discovered based on the signal strength at which the beacons are received. The control devices may provide feedback to a user in response to confirmation messages to indicate to a user that the lighting control device has been added to the temporary group. The control devices may stop providing the feedback after they are removed from the temporary group.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2020Publication date: September 10, 2020Applicant: Lutron Technology Company LLCInventors: Todd G. Anderson, Maxwell Anselm, Vidur Garg, Ashok Karmani, Sanjeev Kumar, Sandeep Mudabail Raghuram, Somesh Rahul, Ananthanag Nemmani, Jaykrishna A. Shukla, Alcides Dias, Surjith Bhagavath Singh
