  • Patent number: 11750499
Abstract: A computer-implemented method according to one embodiment includes defining a micro-operative of a first network. The first network has non-obligatory nodes, and the micro-operative includes rankings assigned to each of the nodes of the first network. Activated core covalences (ACCs) are established for the nodes. Each ACC defines a minimum number of neighboring nodes of the node associated with the ACC that, upon the minimum number of neighboring nodes being disconnected from the first network, cause the ranking of the associated node to decrease. An aggregated activated core covalence (A-ACC) is established, and the A-ACC corresponds to a sum of at least some of the ACCs of the nodes. The method further includes determining, based on the A-ACC, whether to perform a communication operation using a path that includes the nodes in the first network.

  • Patent number: 11735920
Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The methods include, for instance: obtaining historical data of demand response programs and demand response agreements respective to each of the users regarding a subject energy. Training dataset for a DR user pooling model includes attributes of the demand response data collected that are relevant to responsivities of the demand response programs. The DR user pooling model is trained by the training dataset by machine learning. A DR user pool is identified amongst users of the demand response program by the DR user pooling model. Users in the DR user pool respond to demands as a group and the DR user pool is adjusted to improve responsivities of the demand response programs.

  • Publication number: 20230114682
Abstract: A process for service chain instance pool sizing includes receiving service requests, communicated in a 5G network, into a buffer of a request handler of the 5G network. The service requests are for processing by a service function chain. The request handler is configured to relay received service requests to a pool of service chain instances of the service function chain. The process determines an average number of service requests to be processed by the service function chain, determines a number of service chain instances to exist in the pool as a composite of (i) service chain instances to process service requests making an initial relay through the service function chain and (ii) service chain instances to process service requests that were re-introduced into the buffer after having previously arrived, and indicates this composite number to a broker component that controls the number of service chain instances in the pool.

  • Publication number: 20230089098
Abstract: A method for contact tracing a confirmed case of an infectious disease. A network function (NF) of a 5G network receives information of a confirmed case of a contagious disease with a consent of the user. The NF accesses mobile device location history and timestamp data of the user having the confirmed case from a unified data repository (UDR) of the 5G network. The NF generates a list of hot spots and timeframes, based on a contact tracing function analyzing the location history, and the NF sends the list of hot spots and timeframes to mobile devices of subscribers of the 5G network, wherein the mobile devices of the 5G subscribers include an application (app) that compares the list of hot spots to locally stored location history on respective mobile devices and provides alerts for a match of location and timeframe.
