  • Publication number: 20240150497
Abstract: Disclosed herein are detergent compositions that comprise at least one (i) glucan derivative and/or (ii) oxidized polysaccharide derivative. A glucan derivative of (i) can be substituted with at least one organic group that comprises a carboxylic acid group or a sulfonate group, and the degree of substitution (DoS) of the glucan derivative with the organic group can be about 0.1 to about 3.0. An oxidized polysaccharide derivative of (ii) can be produced by contacting a polysaccharide derivative under aqueous conditions with at least one agent that is capable of oxidizing the polysaccharide derivative. The polysaccharide derivative for oxidation has a degree of substitution (DoS) up to about 3.0 with at least one organic group. Further disclosed are various applications and products employing detergent compositions.

  • Publication number: 20110190191
Abstract: A process for making aggregate granules comprising encapsulates or microcapsules of liquid benefit agent, preferably perfume, the process comprising the steps of: a) providing a powdered and/or granulated laundry composition comprising detergent particles selected from surfactants, fabric softeners and/or detergency builders; b) preparing a slurry comprising water, optional soluble materials, and encapsulates of liquid benefit agent; c) spraying the slurry prepared in step b) onto the laundry composition provided in step a) using a high rate of spray to create droplets larger than 70 micron in order to form aggregate granules of liquid benefit agent encapsulates anchored to detergent particles. Also, to particulate detergent compositions including the aggregate granules obtainable by the process and use of the compositions in laundry processes.

  • Publication number: 20090124530
Abstract: This invention relates to the incorporation of single and double emulsions into a cross-linking polysaccharide matrix selected from alginate and carrageenan, particularly when cured in a saline solution. Beading and extrusion were used as encapsulation processes. Particles were obtained containing 54 to 88% oil. The double emulsion is known to deliver rinse conditioner softness to the wash. The problem has been to incorporate it into a matrix that will allow redispersion in the wash. The emulsions incorporated redisperse in the same manner as they did before incorporation. The technology has been tested for a wide range of oils, however, specific combinations of oils and kappa carrageenan yield excellent particles containing high oil levels, which are suitable for incorporation into detergent powders, with good softening performance.
