Publication number: 20110034151Abstract: A user directly accesses a stored voicemail message through an SMS and circuit switched voice channel. This has the benefits for the user to directly access a particular voice message stored in the network without the need to listen sequentially through some or all stored voicemail messages or having to listen to a generic operator greeting with the number of messages. The method is reliable because no additional digits are required outside of the standard E.164 numbering plan. The voicemail system sends a voicemail notification SMS containing the depositor's address as the sender address, and an access number in the body text. The access number allows direct access to the voicemail. Through the SMS auto-preview function in the mobile device's standard SMS inbox, a basic interactive voicemail experience is achieved because the device can directly retrieve the voicemail using the access number.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2009Publication date: February 10, 2011Inventors: Sander Brouwer, David Geen, Klaas Wijbrans

Publication number: 20070110076Abstract: A message interworking gateway (1) resides in an overlay IMS network (2) associated with a home SS7 network (10). The gateway (1) intercepts requests for routing information (MAP-SRIs) from either the home SMSC (11) or a foreign SMSC. If the message recipient is available on the IMS overlay network (2) the gateway (1) performs protocol translation AND routes the translated message to the recipient. If not, the gateway returns the SRI to the home (10) network. The gateway operates without updating the home HLR (12) with user presence data and hence voice traffic can be kept on circuit switched technology without being routed to the IMS overlay network (2).Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2006Publication date: May 17, 2007Inventors: Sander Brouwer, Pieter Keijzer, Gertjan Van Wingerde

Publication number: 20070071200Abstract: A voice call in a connectionless VoIP domain is received (2) by a protection system which resides between a CSCF system and an IP voicemail system. A filter checks (2) the originator address against personalized address white and black lists. If on the black list (3a) session set-up is terminated (3c). If (3b) it is on the white list the session is connected (4) to the recipient. If the originator address is not on the white list a local connection is established (5). Subsequently, a detector operates (6a, 6b, 6c) to prompt the originator with an audible randomly-selected question from a database containing a number of question and answer pairs, which are identified in the database by an index number (I). The questions are stored in the database in the form of audio clips, and the answers are stored in computer readable phonetic language format. The originator is requested to respond verbally to the selected question.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2006Publication date: March 29, 2007Inventor: Sander Brouwer
