  • Publication number: 20080207253
Abstract: A system for managing the operation of a plurality of radio modules integrated within the same wireless communication device. In at least one embodiment of the present invention, a control strategy may be employed to regulate the quality level of a signal delivered by a codec in order to balance the performance realized in the reproduction certain signals with overall communication stability in the wireless communication device. The regulation of signal quality level may be affected by reducing the bit rate of a codec, changing the codec to select another codec with a lower bit rate, or by performing bitrate scaling with the codec signal.

  • Patent number: 6990354
Abstract: A communications device comprising means for transmitting a signal to another party; and means for controlling the signal level with which said transmitting means transmits, wherein said signal level is initially relatively low and when a connection is established with said another party, said signal level is increased.

  • Publication number: 20050261007
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for transferring data flows between two Bluetooth devices connected via a Bluetooth Network Encapsulation Protocol (BNEP) data connection via dedicated Logical Link Control and Adaptation Protocol (L2CAP) channels. The method basically comprises detecting a data flow to be transferred and is characterized by detecting a quality of service requirement of said data flow, and establishing a L2CAP channel dedicated for said data flow, wherein said L2CAP channel meets at least said detected QoS requirement.

  • Publication number: 20050180343
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and network device for forming a wireless network, by a first network device 6 and a second network device 4 in a wireless personal area network (PAN) environment, by the steps of connecting said first network device 6 with said second network device 4; determining at least one service provided by said second network device 4, said determining step being carried out by said first network device 6; and implementing said determined service in said first network device 6.

  • Patent number: 6775258
Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, by which to route packets of data between a data source node and a data destination node in an ad hoc, wireless network, such as a Bluetooth scatternet. Data routing tables are provided to each node, and header information extracted from a packet header is used by such tables. Routing of a packet of data is effectuated in a hop-by-hop manner to effectuate the communication of the packet from the data source node to the data destination node.

  • Publication number: 20020039357
Abstract: A method for routing packets in a mobile ad hoc network comprising a plurality of wireless mobile nodes. The mobile nodes maintain and acquire routing information on other mobile nodes and route packets to other mobile nodes on the basis of mobile node specific paths. In addition to the network layer IP addresses, mobile node specific routing addresses are composed for packets from the network layer addresses or unique device identifiers to be used as source and destination addresses of packets. Packets are routed between the mobile nodes of the mobile ad hoc network on the basis of the routing addresses.
