Patent number: 10821877Abstract: A headlight assembly for assembly adjacent at least one skin component of a vehicle includes a housing supporting at least one light and a lens attached to the housing. The lens includes at least one attribute for engaging the at least one skin component. The attribute may be a pin or an aperture formed in the lens which may extend a distance from a surface of the lens for guiding the skin component. The skin component may be a grille and the attribute may restrict movement of the headlight assembly relative the grille in a Y-axis direction forming a margin therebetween. The attribute may be a channel including a bracket for guiding the skin component, for instance, a facia into the channel. The attribute may be a cavity formed in the lens for receiving an overlapping portion of the skin component, for example, a grille.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2019Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: David Brian Glickman, Matt W. Patent number: 10704756Abstract: A subassembly for a vehicle front end includes a grille, a housing supporting at least one light, and a lens attached to said housing. The lens has at least one attribute for engaging said grille. The grille may include at least one extension and the at least one attribute has a shape corresponding with the extension. The at least one attribute may further restrict movement of said lens relative said grille in a Y-axis direction. This ensures consistent margins or gap widths therebetween. The at least one attribute may include an aperture, or a cavity formed in said lens for receiving the extension. The at least one extension may include an overlapping portion of said grille, and the at least one extension may be a loop overlapping at least a portion of said lens.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2017Date of Patent: July 7, 2020Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: David Brian Glickman, Matt W. Patent number: 6144255Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing out-of-band frequency components of an RF amplified input signal, the amplified signal having both in-band frequency components and out-of-band frequency components, employ a feedforward network in which a microprocessor can sweep a frequency generator output connected to a mixer, the other input of the mixer being the amplified output, to find the carrier frequency of the input signal, and thereafter modify or control the feedforward circuit to reduce out-of-band frequency component energies in a particular manner. For example, gain and phase of a variable gain-phase network in a feedforward circuit structure can be modified for reducing the out-of-band frequency component energy.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1998Date of Patent: November 7, 2000Assignee: Powerwave Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Sandip Patel, Wayne Roberts, Kwang Kim, Stefan Klein, Richard D. Patent number: 6118339Abstract: An apparatus and method measure the energy in frequency bands of an amplified signal, the amplified signal being an amplified version of an RF received input signal, where the received signal has an allocated frequency bandwidth and carrier frequency. The carrier frequency, however, is not known in advance of receipt; and therefore, the apparatus and method provide structure and methodology for finding the carrier and then reducing the out-of-band frequency components of the amplified signal. The apparatus features a mixer configured as a four quadrant multiplier biased into a linear operating region. The mixer receives both the received signal and the amplified signal, and produces as its output a baseband signal. Various detection mechanisms can be used to determine the distortion correction control signals based upon the energy in portions of the amplified signal offset from the carrier signal. In a preferred embodiment, the mixer is a Gilbert Cell mixer and the received signal is a CDMA signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1998Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Powerwave Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Charles R. Gentzler, Sandip Patel
