    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for assigning, identifying and controlling broadcast transmissions are disclosed. A broadcast flow is assigned to a broadcast logical channel of the physical resources of a wireless communication channel. A broadcast channel control message indicative of parameters of the broadcast logical channel is generated. Upon receipt, the broadcast channel control message is processed and used to accordingly process the received broadcast transmission.
