  • Patent number: 6031373
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for imaging by means of nuclear magnetic resonance. A polarizing, homogenous, static magentic field is caused to act on the body (1) to be imaged, and then this magnetic field is reduced or switched off. Subsequently, a further magnetic field directed transversely to the polarizing magnetic field is caused to act on the body (1), and the magnetic fields forming by means of nuclear magnetic resonance are sensed by means of a SQUID gradiometer (5), and the image is formed from the signals of the gradiometer.

  • Patent number: 4678570
Abstract: A planar centrifugal chromatography device includes a chamber (2), and a rotor (3) arranged therein, driven by a motor (12) and serving as a separating element. The rotor has a supporting plate (15) with an adsorbing medium (4) provided thereon. A collecting device (5) is arranged near the outer edge of the rotor, but within the chamber. The characteristics of the invention include the collecting device (5) and the rotor (3) being mounted on a common shaft (10) and each individual point of a wall of the collecting device (5) being farther away from the axis of rotation (14) than the point of the adsorbing medium (4) which is farthest from the axis of rotation (14), and include the distances of individual points on the wall of the collecting device (5), measured from the axis of rotation (14), varying.

  • Patent number: 4671870
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for overpressured thin-layer chromatographic technique, comprising at least one carrier plate arranged adjacent a closed space, a sorbent layer arranged on the surface of said carrier plate, means for covering the surface of said sorbent layer under influence of overpressure generated in said closed space, a first inlet for admitting solvent to said sorbent layer, a second inlet for admitting overpressurizing medium into said closed space, a heating unit for altering temperature of said sorbent layer and a temperature control unit for energizing said heating unit. The apparatus according to the invention ensures improved efficiency of the chromatographic developments carried out under overpressure. By means of the apparatus chromatograms can be obtained with increasing speed of separation.

  • Patent number: 4358855
Abstract: An X-ray system for patient diagnostic services in which the patients are X-rayed at several locations and picture amplifiers pick up the X-ray images and are associated with television cameras which transmit video signals both to a monitor at the X-ray location and to a video signal distributor which delivers signals from a selected camera to a central photographing unit. This unit has a further video monitor, an optical system and shutter and means for replaceably positioning films in the focal plane of these opticals. The exposed film is continuously developed.

  • Patent number: 4306796
Abstract: A between-lens shutter assembly for photographing devices comprising at least two, preferably three rotary plates with axes parallel to the axis of the lenses. Each plate comprises an opening. When the plates are rotated with common speed, the openings move from evenly distributed directions towards the inside opening of the lenses, completely uncover it, then in continued movement close the inside opening again. This way identical opening and closing characteristics and times are provided. In a method using the shutter assembly exposures are taken from television pictures, in which the length of the exposure period is adjusted to be equal to the period of a television picture and the duration of either an opening or closing section, whereby uniform illumination is ensured for the exposure. The invention can be used mainly for the precise photographing of X-ray pictures displayed on the screen of a television monitor.

  • Patent number: 4276478
Abstract: A film changer for X-ray equipment or the like comprises a storage cassette for a stack of unexposed films and a receiving cassette for exposed films on opposite sides of an illumination stage. The two cassettes have sidewalls with open-ended horizontal guide grooves bounded from above by ledges with beveled undersides and flat upper surfaces supporting the respective stacks, these grooves being aligned with other grooves in a guide track flanking the exposure position to define therewith a planar transport path for a film extracted from the storage cassette and inserted after exposure into the receiving cassette.

  • Patent number: 4135785
Abstract: Divider for directing an X-ray light beam into two or three directions, which beam emerges from the screen of an X-ray image intensifier in diagnostic X-ray arrangements. The divider is disposed at 45.degree. with respect to the optical axis, and consists essentially of a slit mirror which has a non-transparent metallization with one or two non-metallized, transparent areas or gaps therein, these areas corresponding to the required divisional ratios, there being similarly non-transparent mirrors or reflecting prisms behind the gaps.
