  • Patent number: 7683198
Abstract: Mono-hydroxyl-functional organopolysiloxanes are prepared with minimal byproducts and increased storage stability by reaction of cyclotrisiloxanes with sil(ox)anols containing less than 1 weight percent water in the presence of heterogenous alkali metal or alkaline earth metal oxide or carbonate catalysts.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 11, 2006
Date of Patent: March 23, 2010
    Assignee: Wacker Chemie AG
    Inventors: Oliver Schaefer, Sandra Bachmaier
  • Publication number: 20080255317
Abstract: Polyester/polysiloxane copolymers are prepared by ring-opening synthesis of hydroxyalkyl- or aminoalkyl functional organopolysiloxanes from a cyclic silazane and an Si—OH functional polysiloxane, followed by reaction with a cyclic lactone such as a caprolactone. The process tolerates functional groups on the polysiloxane segments which are not possible in other synthetic methods.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 13, 2006
    Publication date: October 16, 2008
    Applicant: WACKER CHEMIE AG
    Inventors: Oliver Schaefer, Sandra Bachmaier
