Abstract: A machine of console includes a processor and a machine readable medium accessible by the processor. The processor being adapted to execute instructions including categorizing incidents based on parameters of the incidents; identifying solutions, at least partially, based on the categorization of the incidents; measuring mean time to restoration; monitoring post-restoration incidents over a period of time; and storing effective solutions into a database corresponding to the category.

Abstract: A user interface that may be adapted for use with a Reservation and Departure Control System (RDCS) for a transportation industry is disclosed. The RDCS manages the booking and re-booking of passengers on a transportation carrier. In one embodiment, the system supports a re-booking process wherein passengers whose travel accommodations (e.g., one or more airline flights) have been cancelled or modified are re-booked on different accommodations. The user interface is designed to graphically convey the flow, as well as the hierarchy, of the re-booking process to a user. This interface further includes links that naturally navigate a user from one process step to the next so that an in-depth knowledge of process flow is not required for successful use of the system.

Abstract: A system is described that includes a host computer and a user interface module executing on a client computer. The host computer maintains data for shipment items, and the client computer executes a user interface module that presents a user interface that includes at least one activity region having a preference control input and a set of data fields to display at least a portion of the data associated with the shipment items. In response to activation of the preference control input by a user, the user interface module presents a preference control window to selectively enable and disable the inclusion of each of the data fields within the activity region.

Abstract: A logistics management system is described that includes a host computer that performs logistics management tasks for shipment items, and a user interface module that presents a user interface for the host computer. The user interface module generates a user interface having windows for performing the logistics management tasks. The user interface module generates each of the windows to include an item selection region to receive criteria for selecting one or more of items associated with the freight shipments, one or more activity regions to receive activity data for the activities, and an action input region to receive action input specifying one of the logistics management tasks. The host computing system processes the activity data captured with a single window to complete the specified logistics management task in response to the action input received from a user.

Abstract: A system is described that includes a host computer and a client computer. The host computer maintains data defining a set of selectable items, and the client computer executes a user interface module that presents a user interface that includes a first selection mechanism populated with a first subset of the items for selection by a user and a search input. In response to activation of the search input mechanism the user interface module presents a second selection mechanism populated with a second subset of the search items that includes a greater number of the search items than the first subset.

Abstract: A system is described in which a user interface module presents a user interface having a field set insertion control. In response to actuation of the field set insertion control by a user, the user interface module dynamically inserts one or more sets of input fields into the user interface for receiving input data from the user. As a result, the user need not be forced to utilize forms having static input lists. Dynamic addition of fields may provide a non-limiting way of stylizing a user interface such that the interface may be kept simple and uncluttered.

Abstract: A system includes a user interface software module that presents a user interface having a plurality of graphical indicators that represents respective ranges of available options associated with a set of items available from an electronic commerce system. The user interface software module selects one of the items based on an adjustment to one of the graphical indicators by a user, and automatically adjusts at least one of the other graphical indicators based on the selected one of the items.

Abstract: A logistics management system is described that includes a host computer that performs logistics management tasks for shipment items, and a user interface module that presents a user interface for the host computer. The user interface module presents a user interface to include an item selection region to receive shipment criteria, one or more activity regions to display a set of shipment items that match the shipment criteria, and an action input region to receive action input specifying one or more logistics management tasks. The host computing system automatically performs the specified logistics management task on a plurality of the items in response to the action input received from a user. In this manner, an action may be performed on multiple items related to an overall logistics management task with limited user input required.
