Abstract: A high-power microwave (HPM) vacuum tube source and method of precise coaxial alignment of the field emission (FE) cathode, cylindrical RF generating tube and magnet field includes positioning a low-power thermionic emission (TE) cathode inside the FE cathode in a “cathode-in-cathode” arrangement. With the HPM source under vacuum and the FE cathode deactivated, the TE cathode emits a surrogate electron beam through the generating tube. Measurement circuits measure the surrogate electron beam's position with respect to a longitudinal axis fore and aft of the generating tube. The measurements circuits may, for example, be a repositionable fluorescent target or electric field sensors embedded in the cylindrical RF generating tube. The coaxial alignment of the primary cathode, cylindrical RE generating tube and magnet is adjusted until the position of the surrogate electron beam satisfies a coaxial alignment tolerance.

Abstract: A method for protecting the bottom of a bag from dirt, germs and grime. A protective film is adhered to release paper to form a protective film unit sheet. The protective film unit sheet is then folded and placed into a pouch. The pouch is then placed into a bag for easy access. When needed, the pouch is removed from the bag. The protective film unit is removed from the pouch and unfolded. The protective film is peeled away from the release paper and the adhesive remains attached to the protective film. The protective film is then adhered to the bottom of a bag to protect the bag from dirt, germs and grime. When finished, the protective film is peeled away from the bag so that the adhesive remains attached to the protective film, leaving the handbag free from unwanted adhesive residue. In a preferred embodiment the protective film is adhered to the bottom of purse to protect the purse from dirt, germs and grime.

Abstract: A key locator with tracking capability. A bent rod-shaped first member has a bent first end portion and a second end portion. A second member is configured for selectively retaining keys. The bent first end portion and second end portion are opposed to each other. The bend rod-shaped first member incorporates a planar bent center region intermediate to the bent first end portion and the second end portion to form the interior of the key locator. The bent first end portion and the second end portion are not urged against each other and are configured to allow the bent center region to hang from an edge. The bent first end portion of the bent rod-shaped first member substantially permanently and flexibly interlocks with the second member. A tracking device is connected to the key locator and is in radio frequency communication with a user's smart phone. In a preferred embodiment the tracking device enables a user of the smart phone to find the key locator if it is lost or misplaced.

Abstract: Provided is a personal safety kit and methods for using the kit. The kit comprises, in combination, a purse having an open edge, one or more personal safety items inside of the purse, and a locator comprising a first member and a second member engaged to each other. The first member includes a first end portion, a second end portion and a bent interior region intermediate the first end portion and the second portion. The first end portion and the second end portion are not urged against each other and are configured to allow the bent interior region to hang from the open edge. The second member includes a clasp or a ring for selectively retaining the one or more personal safety items. The locator hangs on the open edge and is retained in position by a removable fastener prior to a first use of the personal safety kit.

Abstract: Provided is a key locator comprising a) a bent rod-shaped first member having opposing first and second end portions and b) a second member that selectively retains keys. The first member incorporates a bent interior region between the end portions. The end portions are not urged against each other and allow the bent interior region to hang from or clasp to an edge. The first end portion substantially permanently and flexibly engages with the second member. In one embodiment, the second end portion is substantially rigidly affixed to the key locator such that container movement necessarily causes key locator movement. In another embodiment, the container is rotatably mounted to the second end portion and comprises a hinge that attaches a first face to the container. The first face moves between an open configuration that exposes an interior portion of the container and a closed configuration that seals the interior portion.

Abstract: Provided are case assemblies and locators and apparatuses for the protection and ready location of handheld electronic devices and other objects. The apparatus includes a case assembly and a locator. The case assembly includes a case for housing a handheld electronic device, a mounting device for moving the handheld electronic device between different positions with respect to the case, and a connector for engaging the case with the locator. The locator is configured for removably hanging on an edge of a purse, backpack, briefcase or bag. The locator includes a means for selectively engaging the connector of the case assembly and/or other objects.
