Patent number: 8505714Abstract: A conveying system comprises a frame and an endless belt moveable relative to the frame. The belt comprises a first fabric layer having an inner surface and an outer surface that at least partially forms an upper surface of the belt. A composition comprising a flame retardant is adhered to the inner surface of the first fabric layer such that the composition at least partially forms the inner surface of the first fabric layer. A second fabric layer has an inner surface and an outer surface that at least partially forms a bottom surface of the belt. A composition comprising polyurethane is adhered to the inner surface of the second fabric layer such that the composition at least partially forms the inner surface of the second fabric layer. An at least substantially solid lubricant composition is impregnated in the second fabric layer and at least partially forms the bottom surface of the belt. The belt is supported on a slider bed for movement across the slider bed.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2011Date of Patent: August 13, 2013Assignee: Forbo Siegling, LLCInventors: Jay Philip Leighton, Sandra Vause Canipe

Patent number: 7909719Abstract: A belt assembly is provided for use as an endless belt traveling relative to a frame structure. The belt assembly comprises a first fabric layer and a second fabric layer having an outer surface that at least partially forms a bottom surface of the belt. A composition comprising polyvinyl chloride is adhered to the inner surface of the first fabric layer. A composition comprising polyurethane is adhered to the inner surface of the second fabric layer. A coating composition comprising polyvinyl chloride is disposed between the inner surfaces of the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer for joining the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer. An at least substantially solid lubricant composition is impregnated in the second fabric layer and at least partially forms the bottom surface of the belt.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2008Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: Forbo Siegling, LLCInventors: Jay Philip Leighton, Sandra Vause Canipe

Publication number: 20090258744Abstract: A belt assembly is provided for use as an endless belt traveling relative to a frame structure. The belt assembly comprises a first plain woven fabric layer having an inner surface and an outer surface that at least partially forms an upper surface of the belt. The first fabric layer includes synthetic yarns having a denier of at least about 1000. A second lofty woven fabric layer has an inner surface and an outer surface that at least partially forms a bottom surface of the belt. The second fabric layer includes an effective amount of textured synthetic yarns and/or synthetic staple filament yarns. An adhesive composition comprising an elastomeric material is adhered to the inner surface of the first fabric layer and the inner surface of the second fabric layer for joining the fabric layers.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2009Publication date: October 15, 2009Applicant: FORBO SIEGLING, LLCInventors: Jay Philip Leighton, Sandra Vause Canipe

Patent number: 7549938Abstract: An endless treadmill belt includes a bottom-ply fabric that at least partially forms a bottom surface of the belt, and the bottom surface of the belt is for sliding across a treadmill deck. The bottom-ply fabric includes textured synthetic yarns that at least partially form the bottom surface of the belt. A solid lubricant composition is impregnated in the bottom-ply fabric. The solid lubricant composition is a mixture that includes higher and lower viscosity lubricants and a binder.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2003Date of Patent: June 23, 2009Assignee: Forbo Financial Services AGInventors: Jay Philip Leighton, Sandra Vause Canipe

Publication number: 20040132586Abstract: An endless treadmill includes a bottom-ply fabric that at least partially forms a bottom surface of the belt that is for sliding across a treadmill deck. The bottom-ply fabric has warp yarns that at least partially form the bottom surface of the belt, with a large number of these warp yarns, and preferably all of these warp yarns, being less than about 1000 denier, or more preferably about 500 denier or smaller. In addition, the warp yarns that at least partially form the bottom surface of the belt are twisted about 2.5 complete turns per inch, or less. A solid lubricant composition is preferably impregnated in the bottom-ply fabric. The solid lubricant composition includes a wax mixture and it optionally further includes a lower viscosity lubricant, such as silicone. The wax mixture may include a vegetable wax and a mineral wax, such as a mixture of paraffin wax and carnauba wax.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2003Publication date: July 8, 2004Applicant: Siegling America, LLCInventors: Jay Philip Leighton, Sandra Vause Canipe
