Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for enabling a caller to specify call coverage and bridging treatment preferences and or directives. The treatment may be specified by using SIP header parameters of an INVITE request associated with the call. The treatment may also be specified by an enterprise communication system, or equivalent, by engaging an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to collect a caller's coverage preferences.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for creation of a SIP session between a controlling endpoint and a controlled endpoint. The SIP shared control mechanism sets up a first party control channel between a softclient acting as a CTI application and a controlled endpoint. The use of labels associated with multiple controlled endpoints associated with a user are utilized.

More specifically, an integrated content application is provided in which related content is displayed in a single window user interface. The content displayed can be determined by instructions received by the integrated content application. Different items of content can be displayed in sequence, but are not displayed simultaneously. Moreover, one item of content can provide context for another item of content. In addition, one item of content can be presented in non-real time, while the other related item of content can be presented in real time.

Abstract: Aspects are directed toward managing, including reorganizing, inbound communications, a communications log, or presentation of a communication to a user, based on one or more of the identity, role and urgency of calling or communicating party, including, for example, forwarding or hybrid priority routing. For example, in an e-mail type of environment, received communications could be re-organized based on one or more of the above, such that higher priority communications are escalated to “the-top-of-the-stack.” This similar type of operation can be done in a communications modality independent manner, and extended to, for example, voicemails, caller ID, SMS messages, or in general any communication in any communications modality, where one or more communications are capable of being managed and re-organized. As an optional embodiment, an attribute or characteristic associated with the communication can be modified, such that the user is aware of the ranking associated with that communication.
