  • Publication number: 20160219046
Abstract: In one example of a system and method for multi-modal biometric identity verification, a system receives a request from a device to verify a user's identity. The request includes a payload encrypted using keys derived from a biometric minutia set based on the user's biometric data. The system retrieves biometric data corresponding to an enrolled user, generates a decryption key based on a biometric minutia set derived from the retrieved biometric data, and decrypts the payload. Biometric data extracted from the payload is compared to biometric data corresponding to the enrolled user to produce a comparison result. The result is used to identify a value representing a probability that the biometric data matches. The system calculates a verification score representing a level of confidence that the user is the enrolled user if the value meets or exceeds a threshold and sends the score or a representation thereof to the device.

  • Patent number: 9250660
Abstract: A mobile device having a HOME button with integrated user biometric sensing comprises a casing, a touchscreen, a HOME button and a camera/scanner module. The touchscreen is mounted on the casing and simultaneously acts as a display panel and a touch-sensitive digitizing input pad. The HOME button is mounted on the casing, and at least a portion of the HOME button is formed of an optically transparent material forming an aperture or lens for transmitting optical images through the HOME button. The camera/scanner module is disposed below the HOME button adjacent the aperture, and includes a housing, a lens, a photo sensor and signal wires which operatively connect the scanner/camera module to sensing/security circuitry disposed within the casing. When a user presses the HOME button with a fingertip, the lens array focuses an image of a fingerprint from the top surface of the HOME button onto the photo sensor.

  • Publication number: 20140243081
Abstract: A game system for implementing a computer game on computers, tablets, smartphones, other mobile devices and/or consoles, the computer game having a round-based play system and a baseline set of rules. The game system comprises providing a user with access to a music library including a plurality of musical pieces, each musical piece including one or more music-derived parameters, prompting the user to select a specific one of the plurality of musical pieces, determining the value of the one or more music-derived parameters for the selected musical piece, modifying the baseline rules of the computer game based upon the determined values of the music-derived parameter and initiating a game round of the computer game using the modified baseline rules of the game and playing the selected music piece during the game round.

  • Publication number: 20140205196
Abstract: A method is provided for photo frames with dynamic automatic template building system and location sensitive photo commerce. The method comprises: determining, by a geographic location sensing device, a first geographic location of the mobile device; obtaining, by a communication device, information from an external source regarding templates for photo frames associated with second geographic locations of known proximity to the first geographic location; downloading, by the communication device, a template for one of the photo frames for which information was received, the photo frame including a graphic content; combining, by the processor, the graphic content from the photo frame with additional graphic content from one of a digital photo stored previously stored in a memory or a digital photo taken by a digital camera; creating a new digital photo from the combined graphic content; and storing the new digital photo in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20140195974
Abstract: A method for using a finger swipe interface to control the functionality of a system comprises the following steps: storing a key swipe pattern; storing a key indicia; sensing a pick swipe pattern using a finger swipe interface; comparing the pick swipe pattern to the key swipe pattern; storing a positive result if the pick pattern is the key pattern; displaying, an array of different indicia at a plurality of discrete display locations. If a positive result, the array of indicia includes the key indicia, whereas if a negative result, the array does not include the key indicia. A pick indicia is sensed and compared to the key indicia. The system in controlled in a first manner if the pick indicia is the key indicia; and controlled in a second manner if the pick indicia is not the key indicia.

  • Publication number: 20140196143
Abstract: A method for real-time verification of live person presence at a network location comprises the following steps: receiving a verification request at a network location; generating a real-time security indicia; displaying the real-time security indicia on a display screen at the network location; capturing with a back-facing camera at the network location, a real-time image of the field of view (FOV) in front of the display screen displaying the security indicia; detecting a human face in the FOV image; detecting an eye region of the human face in the FOV image; and detecting a reflected image of the security indicia in the eye region in the FOV image. If the reflected image of the security indicia is not detected in the eye region of the FOV image, the verification attempt is deemed unsuccessful, whereas if the reflected image of the security indicia is detected, the verification attempt is deemed successful.

  • Publication number: 20140193140
Abstract: A method for slow motion display of audiovisual content on a mobile device comprises storing a plurality of videos in a memory; providing a first video window configured to include a start/pause control, frame control and video display area for display of a first video; and determining, by a display orientation sensor, whether the touchscreen is in portrait or landscape orientation. If in portrait orientation, the first video window occupies substantially the entire viewing area. If in landscape orientation, the first video window occupies a first portion of the viewing area and an analysis window occupies a second portion of the viewing area. The analysis window includes either a menu displaying a list of videos for selection as a second video, or if a second video has been selected, a second video window including independent start/pause control, frame control, and video display area for independent display of the second video.

  • Publication number: 20120179620
Abstract: A method for timed mobile delivery of goods comprises providing a user interface to a mobile device. The user interface allows the user of the mobile device to input a data file that provides log-in data, creates a new timed deliverable, selects a delivery format, template, and recipient for the deliverable, inputs a message to accompany the deliverable, and selects a gifting option and delivery date and time. The user interface sends the data file from the mobile device to a computer at a remote location. The method further comprises receiving the data file from the mobile device at the remote computer, storing and processing the data, and creating a timed mailer using the data. The method checks to determine if the delivery time and date is reached; and if so, triggers the timed mailer sending the timed deliverable to the designated recipient.
